Hope he’s okay. I’ve been looking forward to watching him play this year.

To be allowed to practice at the college level he would’ve had to pass a physical. So his heart had no signs of abnormality to pass the physical within the last 2 months and then this happens… very strange. Too many of these instances happening over the last few years.

It's not recent. Things like this have always happened, and disproportionately with basketball players.

In any case, I certainly hope this kid is on the mend and gets the care he needs. Hopefully, it's not something that keeps him from playing.

Hank gathers was originally diagnosed with exercised induced irregular heart beat and was prescribed a beta blocker in which the dosage was lowered as season went on. Structural abnormality in his heart ultimately caused his death.

That is almost entirely wrong. However, he did have a known issue, and they did have a defibrillator ON THE COURT when he collapsed, and it was inexplicably never used.
Grant, Tony Testa, and the defibrillator saved Herb Pope.

First part is true. Many schools/programs do an EKG, and if there are any concerns about that, then an echo.

I actually thought Gather's stopped taking medication because it made him lethargic.
