College basketball calendar needs fixing

I think the NCAA has to call it a no-contact period and then no signings until 2 weeks later.
Right now, it's Jump into portal March 18th and sign with your new school 5 minutes later! It cannot be like trying to get through to buy NY Mets playoff tickets over the phone.

IF College coaches somehow seem to follow the rules on non-contact periods, then this end-of-regular-season-to-portal opening time should also be called a NON-contact period. Same penalties should apply. I think 70% of College Coaches would vote YES on this. The ones alive in any postseason would like it, the low and mid-majors would like it, and even the power conference coaches would welcome a break to decompress. Then 2 weeks later you can sign.
