NEW YORK, N.Y. - Seniors Anthony Elia (Flanders, N.J.) and Kyle Grimm (Bergenfield, N.J.) as well as junior Zack Weigel (Oak Park, Ill.) were named to the 2015 All-BIG EAST Second Team on Tuesday.

Voting for the All-BIG EAST team and major awards was conducted by the league's seven head coaches who could not cast a ballot for their own teams.

Grimm receives All-Conference honors for a second straight year as he was named to the First Team in 2014. Elia and Weigel are receiving post-season conference honors for the first time.

Elia has been reliable as both a starter and reliever throughout his Seton Hall career and 2015 was no different. The left-hander has made a career-high 18 appearances with five starts this season and has been a key part of the weekend rotation down the stretch. Elia has struck out 33 batters and walked only 12 in 56.0 innings this season and owns a 3.86 earned run average. More impressive are his BIG EAST only numbers. Elia leads the Pirates with a 2.61 ERA and has 19 strikeouts and just four walks. He was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for eight innings of two-run ball in a victory at Villanova on May 9.

For the second time in his four-year career, Grimm led the Pirates in batting average at an impressive .324 clip, 10th best in the BIG EAST. A mainstay in the middle of the Seton Hall batting order, he drove in 28 RBIs and has led the Pirates' offensive attack with a career-best .410 on-base percentage. A regular starter from the day he stepped on the South Orange campus, Grimm has 172 career hits, which ranks second among active players. Among several standout games in 2015, the senior went 3-for-4 with an RBI vs. Connecticut on March 21 and was 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs vs. Western Michigan on March 14.

Weigel started in the Pirates outfield in 42 games and batted a team second-best .284 with 25 RBIs and a .398 on-base percentage. The junior led the team with 26 walks and stole 15 bases, the fourth-most in the BIG EAST Conference. Weigel was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on April 6 and both BIG EAST and ECAC Player of the Week on March 24. He had a triple and drove in four runs at St. John's on April 12 and went 3-for-5 with three RBIs at Xavier on April 2.

Seton Hall will return to action on Thursday, May 21 for the first round of the 2015 BIG EAST Championship. The third-seeded Pirates will face second-seeded Creighton at 8:00 p.m. ET at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha, Neb.
