South Orange, N.J. – Seton Hall men's soccer played Stony Brook to a scoreless draw on a warm Tuesday night at Owen T. Carroll Field. With the result, the Pirates' overall record now sits at 5-3-2.

How it Happened
Despite neither side being able to find the back of the net, the match was full of solid scoring chances on both sides. The Seawolves came out with their sights set toward goal early, firing six total shots within the first 10 minutes of the match. Two of those shots forced Mats Roorda (Groningen, Netherlands) to come off his line and make the save.

The first strong chance for the Pirates came in the 23rd minute, as Hugo Gerbore (Moelan Sur Mer, France) found the ball on his left foot in the penalty area. Gerbore launched a shot towards goal, but Stony Brook goalkeeper Edmond Kaiser was up to the challenge.

The second half saw Seton Hall generate the bulk of the chances in the attacking third, however the Pirates were unable to break through. Tomas Nunez (Longchamps, Argentina) and Gerbore each posted shots on target as The Hall pushed the pace in the final 45 minutes of the night.

News & Notes
  • Virgil Dall'Agnol (Grenoble, France) was the lone field player for the Pirates to log the full 90 minutes.
  • Stony Brook held the slight advantage in shots, 10-9, however the Pirates generated seven corner kicks to the Seawolves' three.
  • Roorda made three saves on the night to post his fourth shutout of the season.
  • Roorda's goals against average now sits at 0.89, which currently sits as the third-lowest in a season in program history.
  • The Pirates are unbeaten over their last 11 non-conference home games, going 8-0-3 over that span. The last home non-conference loss for Seton Hall was a 2-1 defeat against Army on Oct. 29, 2019.
