Assistant Coach Fred Hill will be at Picnic to discuss Pirate Hoops.

We were at the Pirate Blue Summer Caravan last evening. Spoke with Assistant Coach Ryan Whelan and said he will be there also.

Coach Fred Hill could not attend as he was in Louisville to watch a a prospective recruit. A 6-5 PG.

We did have a new "old" Pirate Bryan Caver come and speak to the 75 Pirate Fans. Bryan mingled and went from table to table to speak to all the fans. Bryan is now the HC at Trenton HS and is in constant contact with SHA, and he started a new summer league this year to rival the Jersey Shore League. BC said that there were 3 SH Players who played in the league this year.

Bryan also committed to attend the SH Booster Club's annual Pre-Season Dinner.

the Summer League Bryan runs is at the Hun School near Princeton. games are played Tuesdays and Thursdays starting at 6:00 PM. It you get a chance go check it out, wear Pirate garb and stop by to say hello to Bryan. He's very friendly and loves talking Pirate Hoops. Spoke a lot about that 1993 team today. You know the one that should have won it all.....

Two things Bryan stressed that were keys to having a winning team. 1. The players must like each other both on and off the court. and 2. the importance of having a player team leader. On his team that was Jerry Walker.
