Dear posters

I generally really enjoy your posts however, Everyone knows that today when you were referring to another recruit visiting today that meant Braeden Anderson. Really kind of sneaky for people to hint at things like this and say its on the trove just to try and get people to pay for that service. This is important recruiting news that should be able to be accessed by all Seton Hall fans, I mean it is on twitter so its not a huge secret.

Plus almost ever other message board is free and doesn't tempt people into buying with tempting details on recruits

i do find it weird though, there are plenty of forum sites that arent pay sites. in fact this is the only one. Judging by the 100% share of voice Harry's is getting on the page right now the ads are enough to keep this running.
 
Look, we get inside info once in a while. Where else would you find out about the personalities of Willard and Bozzella.?
More importantly, if we don't pay for the Trove there will be no free board. And the coaches and administration will have no way of knowing what its loyal fans think.

Tony B has on many occasions referred to the free board as a big help in attracting fans and interest . If the Trove goes away so does the free board and support for a guy like Tony.and his program

The free board also provides news and info about our other sports like baseball, golf, volleyball.etc. The Trove subscribers enable that.also.

Hall Fan, , why don't you take over the site and run it as well as Dan? I'm sure he wouldn't mind one bit. It's a thankless job esp. with remarks like yours. See how that would work out for everyone.

Oh really? The other Rivals board I belong to has no free content. It is 100 percent pay. Here, we have a terrific free board, funded in great part by the people who pony up that whopping $9.95 a month to keep the site viable.

Talk about your first-world problems....

There is a lot of "I know something you don't know" stuff posted on this site. And the sad truth is that 95% of the time , at the end of the day, you don't know squat.
 
Many paying customers help San and Tom justify keeping the site active. It costs ten freaking dollars a month. Put it on a credit card. You won't know it is missing............
 
This is probably the most asinine post I have read. I have been a trove member for over 10 years and I have been nothing but pleased with my purchase. I always have info no matter the time of year and it always satisfies my pirate addiction in the off season. Do we wish to have every nugget of info? Sure but I am happy with what I get...and it's usually hope. And when it's not hope...it's truth. And that's all you really need.

A few points.

It's incredibly time consuming for me to run the site the way I do. It's also very costly and with the hours I commit here and on the pay site I have no intentions of losing money doing what I do. Thus we need to have a certain amount of Trove subscribers for Tom and I to continue to make priratecrew.com the best it can be.

Obviously you are not a Trove member and that's fine. But please don't think for a moment that the content of the site is comparable to info garnered by reading tweets and other such things.

Regarding the breaking of the news, I could be wrong but I didn't see it anywhere else until after I posted it. Maybe having it first is not that important in the grand scheme of things as this type info usually now comes out same day on various sites. Again that's a choice subscribers have to make.

Regarding all sites being free. That's not true. There are tons of pay sites on the internet. I belong to many and pay for them if they meet my needs and satisfaction.

The Trove isn't for everyone. For those that do help allay the cost of the free board and get a lot of info that they can't get elsewhere I thank them. They pay as low as $8.33 a month. Certainly not a lot.
 
HallFan if you don't like the policy you don'y have to use the site. Nobody is forcing you to log on here....

There is a lot of this on the free board. It's probably my biggest frustration of reading the board, if you know something, and you're not in a position like Dan who can lose sources or get into trouble by sharing it, why even insinuate about it? But this has nothing to do with what Dan provides on the Trove.

I joined a couple months back in the midst of our annual February swoon, and it's worth the $10/ month. There are less bizarre threads like these, and less threads that go completely off the reservation, but the interesting insights Dan provides are probably the biggest value to the subscription. For gluttons for punishment like most of us are, it's also just additional content to read and react to.

Seriously, when people work hard and put in a lot of hours they expect to get paid. Does anybody here work for free?

We're living in times when people think it's their right to read newspapers for free, download music and not pay for it and go on any site and have access to all its content.

The Wall Street Journal was smart. They did not make the big mistake other newspapers made. For years they have made more money from their web site than from their print edition.

You cannot give away your content for free. How can you hire great staff, maintain a solid and reliable infrastructure and deliver for your readers if you have no money?

The bottom line is that no one has to log on to either this free board or the pay board. It's by choice.

I have stopped posting and will continue with my personal embargo (see my new avatar - it stays there until "liberation day"). However, I will continue to subscribe to the Trove. I am a true supporter of Dan and Tom and Sal and company. Better information, better quality information, better discussion on the Trove.

That said - I'll come back when the clapping stops.
 
Honestly we could all just move over to a site like reddit for free and get the same experience, and killing the need for a pay site. only problem is that i would only be able to post the links to my photoshops in the thread. Its actually way better at separating different convos within a thread.

That being said, the new functionality of this site on mobile is a big deal.

I don't know about all sites, but I know Nova has a free board and a pay board just like we do. I know a lot of the avid Nova fans and they consider the free board as off-the-wall
All I can say to you is please repeat goos fraba...goos fraba...goos fraba!

If you think the Trove is for "kool aid". You obviously don't know what the posts and threads are like on the Trove.
