SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - Seton Hall head coach Sara Doell announced Wednesday that Gianna Tomeo (Bradenton, Fla.) has signed a national letter of intent to play women's golf at Seton Hall University.

"Gianna is a solid player who I believe can make an immediate impact on this program," Doell said. "She has significant experience on the junior circuit in Florida and I'm excited for her to come up to the Tri-State area and compete for us. She's an excellent student, a diligent worker and has a solid head on her shoulders."

For being only a senior in high school, Tomeo has extensive experience on the course in Florida. She won the 2013 3A-5 State Regional in Venice Florida with a 73 and followed it up with an eighth place finish among 96 individual golfers at the 3A State Championships. That year, she also won the High School Invitational in Sarasota, the Greater Sarasota Junior Golf Association Championship and the Utah Junior Girls Open in Syracuse, Utah.

Tomeo joins fellow Seton Hall newcomer Jamie Greene as freshmen that will begin competition for Seton Hall this fall. The pair have big shoes to fill as replacements for graduating legends Ali Kruse and Erin McClure.
