Agree that Wusu is what he is. But to say Felton is the answer is not accurate. He can’t penetrate. He’s slow. He was embarrassed in the first half for a pick six layup when the team had a nice rhythm going. At this point he’s not a good defender. Should he have played more than 11 minutes, maybe but I don’t see him as a consistent 15-18 minutes player yet. He is a developing player. He can make a shot when open. There are two issues with this team personnel wise— 1. Dual and Harmon didn’t pan out and 2. our big men can’t score and don’t provide any rim protection.

If I'm being honest, I found a graduate student senior who shot 3-15 and 1-8 in 38 minutes more embarassing than a freshman guard making a mistake.

One player potentially has a future here; the other does not. Do the math on this season and exercise logic.

No it is not. I’m not defending Wusu. I said he is what he is. But how did we get back into the game in the 2nd half— it was defense and the press. If Wusu has a strength it’s defense hustle and toughness. I don’t think Felton would have helped us in that area but that’s just my opinion. We had our best defensive team on the floor, we scored 80+ points and lost because PC was unconscious from 3.
We gave up 41 points in the 1h and an even worse 50 in the 2h. I don’t know what the answer is on this team. Maybe it’s Felton. Maybe it’s not. But allowing Wusu to chuck like he’s Dawes of last year trying to break out of a slump ain’t it. Possibly worst thing that happened to Wusu (and SHU) was having the game of his life against DePaul. Dude makes a few shots and thinks he’s Steph Curry (1/8 from 3pt btw). Appalling.

Is 3/15 from the field good?

Anybody who knows basketball knows that Felton is slow on D, can’t create his own shot and is not a great ball handler. He’s getting better. But hey, I’m sure you have a great eye for talent and are a master hoops strategist.
You’re 100% wrong. 100%. Unreal

And again. How many times do I have to say that my entire point was that we were in an offensive shootout. Defense wasn’t making a difference today. We needed offense. And your golden boy Wusu built a village.

Your mindset is stuck in 1988. If you really think Wusu is better than Felton I’m not going to waste my time typing out a rebuttal. Anybody that knows basketball can easily see it.

With all due respect, he can be in the future. But he’s not at this point. He is becoming a contributor. Just because you say something doesn’t make it so. I listed several points why Felton is not ready for consistent extended minutes. You counter with nothing except name calling.

And I didn’t name call…

Shaheen

Wrong.
You are looking at only 1 side of the ball.

I really like Felton and want him to get more PT and definitely think he is 1 of the top priorities for next season
My point as I stated was that we were in an offensive shootout tonight and Wusu was throwing up brick after brick.

Leaving him in and keeping a better offensive player on the bench is inexcusable.

Are you Shaheen? Your assessment is way off. Felton is better than Wusu and there’s no argument to challenge that.
