Desi was on the bench for a good portion of that collapse at the end while Shu was having trouble rebounding. He came off the bench when sanogo fouled out and picked up an offensive rebound and assist on Carringtons big shot. He's got to be 1 of the 5 on the floor during game deciding minutes.

Desi's unique skill gave SJU fits. Our conventional bigs were getting dominated.

When we tried to match up instead of dictating with Desi it didn't go well.

Gordon has been a huge addition for us but when we need offense he kills us. Willard made a terrible decision by keeping Desi on the bench for long periods in the 2nd half. He had a career high! He shouldn't have been taken out

desi also had two defelctions at the end that basically ran the clock out. hes the reason we won the game.

I totally agree. I love Gordon, but Carrington and Desi need to be on the floor in endgames unless the other team has three guards on the floor. If Desi's absence late in the game wasn't discipline it was a amazing lack of coaching insight. Desi was in the last seat as far away from the coaches as possible. Willard sent Delgado to coax Desi to move and sit back with the team. Something obviously happened and he was in Willard's doghouse. Sonogo fouled out and Desi had to go back in. I trust the coach would not want to sit one of his best players unless it was another teaching moment.
