Anybody else besides me see Hillary Clinton/Cory Booker vs. Chris Christie/Jeb Bush presidential election?

Interesting VP choices. Can't see either of those two being VP selections. One... no gravitas for the job.... Booker. the other .... don't think Bush would consider a VP nomination. If Christie gets Rep nomination, he'll have to get a more conservative VP choice, otherwise I'm afraid a lot of conservative types will sit out the election.

I think you have the presidential candidates right but not the VPs. Corey Bookers record in Newark is really bad. I like the guy and really was hoping he would be good for Newark but he has been anything but good.

And the country is tired of any Bush so Christie would be a fool to pick him.

But crazier stuff has happened. I'd rather see Christie pick Rubio or someone like that.

Hillary can't have NJ in play and Christie needs FL to be in play, hence the VP picks.

Booker would do it in a heartbeat and his media persona far outweighs what he has or has not done in Newark. And he's black.

Jeb Bush will never get the presidential nomination because of his name but he is very popular among the republican elites.

Interesting Salon article, posted on Drudge is linked here. It has some pretty candid negative comments about Hillary made by Camille Paglia, a liberal feminist.

I agree on both accounts. Booker is a media darling but also the absentee Mayor of Newark where he has done a terrible job. Spends too much time trying to get his face before the cameras.or tweeting about himself and not enough time doing the job he was elected to do. As to Jeb Bush I think that ship has sailed. The public will not elect another member of the Bush family. I do however think Hillary and Christie would be the best two options for the Presidency and either one would make a good President.

I can see a Clinton v. Christie race but no on both VPs.

If that's the matchup, get ready for a ton of political ads. New Jersey will be one of the top battleground states.

Doubtful, and Hillary will never choose Booker. She doesn't need him for New Jersey to remain Democratic. A national race will not come down to the enditement of the teachers. That ship has sailed.

To me executive ability is just as important as political philosophy and both Hillary & Christie have it. I'm not in love with political labels or party. I think the next President has to move towards the political center & be able to deal with the opposition. America can not afford anymore of the current gridlock.

As to the VP candidates I don't think they matter. No one votes for a ticket because of who is running for VP.

Agree that she will never choose Booker, nor should she. NJ could very well swing for Christie, however, so not sure Hillary would carry the state. It would be a true battleground for the first time in a long time. I think Hillary actually has the potential to be a worse President than Obama. Here's hoping she never gets the chance.

Do you think Hillary will move to the political center like her hubby did? I think she will if she is forced to, much like Bill.
She will do and say whatever is expedient at the moment. For better or worse, Christie has already moved to the political center. At the moment, Hillary is the Dem frontrunner (only runner?... with Dean and others testing the waters) but neither is a lock for the nominatiuon, though.

For my money.... the Benghazi whitewash should eliminate HC from contention.

We all define political center differently depending on our own views. But Hillary & Christie are closer to the center than the main stream of their respective partys and both have shown the ability to cross the aisle and work with the opposition party. I think America is better off when governed from the center than it is when the extremes of each party are in control. When the idealogues are in control common sense goes out the window.

I could see Clinton taking Deval Patrick from Mass or Martin O'Malley. Does anyone think Biden will take a shot at becoming President?

On the Republican side: I could see Christie and Cruz as a ticket.

No way on Booker. He plays the role well enough, but looks amateurish when he has to speak on larger issues.

I don't see anyone that could beat Hillary in a primary so it is her ticket if she wants it and there are better VP options out there. I don't think she would need Booker to carry Jersey. I think people give Christie too much credit for beating Corzine. Corzine's approval ratings plummeted before the election, and a presidential election will get out an additional million people in Jersey who normally do not vote (and the majority go democrat)

I could see Christie losing a primary though to Rubio, Jeb or even Rand Paul.

I hope it is Christ and Jeb. Good chance that ticket gets my vote.

I agree with you that Christie was elected much more because of Corzine's unpopularity than on his own persona or record. But since that election Christie's popularity in NJ has soared. In part because of his take charge personality and in part because of his efforts fighting for New Jersey in the wake of Hurricaine Sandy. Regardless of the reason he will win big this year and be very hard to beat here in the next Presidential election if he is the GOP candidate. An election race between Hillary & Christie would go down to the wire for New Jersey's electoral vote.

I've seen Booker speak at a healthcare conference and Merge, you are right. He sounds very superficial when it comes to issues outside of NJ. Also agree on Hillary...it's hers if she wants it, but she'll be in her 70's and the media would suck up to her giving her unlimited passes, so she'd have that in her bag as well. It really wouldn't matter who her VP would be...I don't think Booker would make that much of a difference in NJ if Christie's popularity remained where it is. 2016 is an inflection point for the Republican party...can the leadership get rallied around a more moderate candidate like Christie or do they let the extreme right continue to dictate.
