Absolutely biggest game of the year. The winner will be close to an NCAA lock.

For Providence they'll have a chance to win out.

For Seton Hall it nearly guarantees a 3rd place finish in the league.

What's better for the Hall

Beating Prov & losing to X

or

Losing to Prov & beating X

Obviously I know winning both but for discussion purposes. I actually think losing tonight & winning Sun would be better because we don't have a marquee win.

No question beating Xavier is the better win if given the choice of splitting.

I think Xavier winning last night really helps us. They were way too happy. I think we have a really good chance.
We shall see. I pretty much said the same thing last week that it could be tough for them to rebound after such an emotional night, but man are they good. Even when they're off, we will need to play great. They do have a carrot on a stick though...a #1 seed...

Providence does not have the luxury to look past this game. Even if Bentil wasn't 100% healthy this week, every one of their players will give whatever it takes to win this game.
My biggest fear is prov taking it down low to get Delgado out of the game early. Angel and ish have to stay out of foul trouble.

Our team and staff have been working very hard since last spring to get a to games that are important in this part of the season. Best of luck to all them and we should all be very proud of them. Go Pirates.

There are a lot of things we have to do to win this game and how well we do them will determine if we win or not from keeping our big men out of foul trouble , to limiting Dunn offensively, to hitting our free throws and more. To me , this may be the game that decides our tournament chances and I'm hoping we see our A Game from the players and coaches.

Creighton lost last night then travels to Providence and Xavier to finish the season so they're now officially in the review mirror. 3rd and 4th place will most likely be decided tonight.

Without any doubt. Losing to Providence wouldn't hurt much, while Xavier is that elusive great win we just don't have yet.

Of course, turning around and losing to DePaul would mitigate it somewhat, but I can't see that, really. That really is this team's greatest resume bullet point so far, having no bad losses, so the chances of losing to DePaul at crunch time are slim.

yup. If we win tonight, we will really have a stranglehold on 3rd. Providence won't be able to catch us. And a win in our final game at Depaul means Butler can't catch us either, and Creighton would need at a minimum of one big road win @Xavier or @Providence.

I think losing tonight could hurt big time. It should be the easiest out of the next three in my opinion, and Providence is still ranked in the Coaches poll and receiving votes in AP. They could close out the season strong against weaker opponents as well.

Tonight plus Depaul gets us in. So get it done boys.

One game at a time - win tonight. All the focus has to be on this game.
Agreed - I believe it is all about tonight's game. The one thing that keeps me going is thinking when this season started that we would ever be in this position. It is not over but it certainly has been one hell of a ride so far. Go Pirates - tonight montra - FINISH

Have to win tonight to secure the 3 seed.. If Prov wins, they win out (even if they don't they would hold a tiebreaker over us), and be the 3 seed.. That would put us in a MUST win 4 vs 5 game. I want no part of that

Even though we beat St. John's it still feels like we're coming off a loss. I think that will work on our favor.

I really hope we win tonight, because I see a loss Sunday, and at Butler. Lose tonight, and the sphincters are really going to tighten up.
Yea, this game isn't much more difficult than DePaul on the road. Lose this one and things get a little dicey.

And based on a 3rd place finish and on those types of finishes you describe I have always believed that teams in a conference like the BE should not be in the 8-9 NCAA game.
