9-11 victims

Interesting read. I am conflicted on this. I think the POTUS should be on hand every year, although his hands are likely tied by those who really control things behind the scenes when it comes to releasing these documents. It explains why as a candidate he said he'd do it, but now in office he won't. The intelligence community does not want this out there and will do anything to protect their interests, as they have shown now on the fourth presidential administration since 9/11.

Agree. As President, he should be there but I understand why the families would be frustrated and not want him there.

Could be a lot of reasons why they wouldn't want to release the information, but Biden certainly knew what they said when he said he would release them so he should follow through on that.

While I understand victims want the release of documents, they are only viewing this as an emotional reaction. the President needs to be there. While people always think of the worst while it comes why government will not release documents, it usually is not the case. However, without any evidence, I do believe that there were members of the Saudi royal family involved. Did our government make a deal with the Saudi's not to release their involvement in order to go after and dismantle Al Qaeda? It could very well be true.

In the end, is it in the interests to the US to keep the Saudi's as an ally or blow it up? the government of the US sometimes has to deal with some really shady and evil leaders and governments in order to pursue the best interests of the US. It's ugly but practical and has been going on forever. i.e. Being allies with Russia during WW2 meanwhile Stalin exterminated 20 million of his own people.
