A 6'8 Paul Gause

hit some big free throws when it counted as well. The development here has been impressive. Glad to see him perform well overall (still making mistakes obviously) against better competition.

I love this group of guys. Absent an implosion, the next few years are bright with a core of Ish, Nzei, Rodriguez, Carrington, Delgado, Whitehead, and SIngh. Adding a point and a deadeye shooter next year (our two biggest weaknesses) is making me giddy.

I thought Ish's defense in the 1st half was terrible. He continues to give up wide open 3 after 3. Played much better in the 2nd half. Gordon's D was incredible tho

Ish was clearly the unsung hero of the game with those big steals and blocks late in the game. I think he was credited with 3 steals and 1 block but it was more than that. He also had 9 rebounds & picked up several loose balls. When it was crunch time Ish prevented WSU's big men from getting off decent shots.

Great Effort Ish !!!

Ish was the player of the game for SHU. The guy was everywhere and did you notice how quiet Baker was in the second half - guess who was guarding him quite a bit of the time. Great game by Ish - thought he made the difference. Anyone who says otherwise is an idiot!

Ish is really awesome. Just love watching him play on ball defense.

The whole team played tough in the second half. Good to see. Gordon was also inspired.

Desi had a very good efficient game but he may be our best player. Ish was the difference maker in this game though with two massive steals down the stretch and some great boards and key FTs. The kid really stepped up today and was all over the court guarding two guards no less.

Two different halves. Soft and sloppy first half Second half tough and gritty. Switching to man was the difference as far as strategy. Brought out the best in our players. Ish was my player of the game.

Do not forget Desi is playing a new position this year. He does everything well and has a high basketball IQ.

Mjs...know you love Nzei but Ish was the man in that game. Ish is my hero period!

Ish came up real big in the second half.

I love our front court with Ish, Delgado, Desi and Nzei. Match that with our back court of IW, Carrington and Gordon and we have great balance.

We also saw Nzei and Ish together yesterday along with one guard and Desi for a few minutes which are both combos I anticipate seeing due to foul trouble over the season.

mjs and nittany pirate.
It was clear that the team wasn't comfortable playing the d they started in. Willard admitted this. This included Ish which didn't rotate quick enough and gave up some open threes.

In 2nd half, when he was playing man-to-man d, he was great. I remember him switching onto van fleet and baker and causing turnovers with his length. He ripped the ball right out of baker's hands on the perimeter in a crucial play late in the game.

I thought our pick and roll defense was very good in the 2nd half, partly due to the fact that we have versatile defenders such as Ish, Desi, and Nzei and average to tall guards who can switch and guard multiple positions.

I agree. 2nd half Ish's Defense was outstanding but can't have it both ways. He gave up wide open 3 after 3
