As I said in a post last Monday, even though there is only 2 weeks left in his term he seems unhinged and there is still much damage he can do to our nation in that remaining time. Yesterday just proves the point.

I think it has to be seriously considered. But is there even enough time to execute all this legally, or just let the clock run out on his term? The president can object in writing and then the final decision is to be made by Congress, requiring a two thirds vote in each chamber for removal. Not sure they even have the votes.

Problem is, cabinet members who are breaking from Trump are taking the cowardly way out and resigning. Wow, well-off people giving up 2 weeks pay to take a stand.

Instead, remain and band together to do what should be done. If the cabinet was forceful, maybe congress would follow suit. If nothing else a ceremonial step will be taken.

It’s not about Trump doing anything bad the next two weeks (which he could do), but about making it crystal clear that this is not ok. It’s about the future, not the past/present.

I would not be in favor of invoking the 25th Amendment. The President is fit and well to perform the job. The fact that many people suddenly don't like the job he is doing is a different argument. Leave the 25th Amendment genie in the bottle for when it is really needed.

I think it should be considered (and probably was) by the people involved. But I am not sure that is really where we want to go with 2 weeks left.

Without knowing full details of how it works, but as others have mentioned by the time it plays out, think Trump would already be out of office, by trying to remove him from office think will just give him and his "stolen" election supporters/rioters more ammo/anger.

I would just prefer at this point that the next 2 weeks just happen and we let Trump fade away forever.

I'm a conservative full disclosure. I like some of the policies that they put forth during his tenure and dislike some as well. I did not vote for him because he has handled so many things so badly especially his dangerous rhetoric. Did you really say "He is fit"??? He incited a riot and a Capitol Police officer got killed - dead in the melee because of the riot he incited with his words and actions. His own aides were trying to get him to tone it down when he was on the stage and he didn't do it. Sorry but he is not fit - not even close. People died as a direct result of his words. Tell that to the Capital Police officer's family.

The officer dying changes the discussion quite a bit.

Four years ago, Candidate Trump telegraphed he might not accept a loss to Candidate Clinton. The nation elected him President. Throughout this campaign, President Trump telegraphed he might not accept a loss to Candidate Biden. Seventy Five million citizens voted for him. He has consistently implied on this issue he might not defend the Constitution if the results were unfavorable to him.

Nothing has changed. The nation has deemed him fit all along.

I agree with you here. I have people I know who also voted for trump, who are doubling down on him even with what has occured since November 3rd. There has been some serious brain washing with these people and my biggest fear is a bunch of Tim McVeighs have been created within our country.

One of our posters has a son who was told by some new neighbors before the election that if Trump loses, it is gonna be nasty. We saw what happened in Michigan.

What happened should not be a surprise. I expectred this kind of stuff to happen and I expect it to continue to happen.

Really all depends on Trump.
Does he have it in him to do the right thing? I honestly hope so but am not quite convinced.
