Bringing UCONN is big for MBB, but it is HUGE for the conference.
1. The goal of the conference is to be big time, we want to poach coaches, we don't want to be a stepping stone. Adding Uconn is a step in the right direction for that.
2. MBB drives the BE and we are adding a premier name. They aren't what they used to be, but hopefully they will get back to being a top 25 program.
3. The BET has been awesome since realignment, now we get another large fan base involved. Prices might go up, but so will the overall atmosphere and feel for the tournament
4. We add a very large fan base that will bring more eyes to all the games increasing the ratings, which Fox will love and hopefully FS1 ups their coverage of the BE outside of just MBB games.
5. WBB just became a major conference. Hopefully top young coaches won't be leaving the college they graduated from for a low level Big 10 job
6. Baseball and M and W soccer add another very solid program.
