First of all, not sure of the severity of last night's injury. Might miss 2 or 3 games, might be done. Awaiting word.
But even if it's not season-ending it's clear that --with all due respect to the young man-- we cannot depend on him. Whatever we get from here on in is a plus.
It's a shame Long is not ready to play meaningful minutes. Pretty tough to watch as some other freshmen in the league --and we've played against several-- get major court time and produce good results. Willard said last night he will use Long now to back up Shavar. Duh...he has no other choice. Perhaps the kid will rise to the occasion. I'll be rooting for him. It would have been nice if he could have gotten double digit minutes against Georgetown and St. John's as he did vs. Wagner and Iona.
