NEW YORK, N.Y. – Seton Hall senior Amanda Hansen (Pewaukee, Wis.) was named BIG EAST Player of the Week on Monday.
Hansen led the Pirates to a perfect 2-0 week to close the 2015 season. The middle blocker had arguably the best all-around match of her career on Friday vs. St. John’s, finishing with 15 kills, a career-high eight digs, six blocks and two service aces. On Saturday, she tied for the team lead with 12 kills to go with six digs and a team-best .391 attack percentage vs. Providence. It’s the fourth time this season that Hansen has received weekly recognition by the conference. She was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll three times.
Georgetown’s Paige McKnight earned BIG EAST Freshman of the Week honors. Members of the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll include: Butler’s Mary Striedl, Creighton’s Lauren Smith, Georgetown’s Lauren Saar, Villanova’s Gabby Pethokoukis and Xavier’s Abbey Bessler.
