The guy won a gubernatorial reelection handily and has had among the worst year before primary presidential nominee campaigns in modern US history
He has excellent credentials based on his accomplishments as governor.These are things I value highly ,but a lot of people focus on speaking ability and charisma which explains why first term senator Obama who was undistinguished at that point got elected
He is in year 5 of gov...based on what was inherited and this goes back to pre covid...is he better through 5 years than Christie who took over from a Dem admin?
I would like to see what tangible credentials he has put forth as gov for Florida?
Maybe you could enlighten me on how he won re-election by 20% if he didn’t accomplish anything? Boy if you don’t like someone politics you feel they were not successful during their time office.I get it if you are on the left you can‘t acknowledge any Republican’s accomplishments which sad and childlike.

There’s absolutely no argument about DeSantis’s record as just about every metric Florida is doing better under his leadership, and his navigation of the pandemic was outstanding.
His margin of victory and the support of the Hispanic community were stronger than any recent Republican governor.
Personally, I think two things have hurt his chances…..leading with social issues was not the way to go. People care about the economy and safety. And as you said, he is just not as comfortable on a national stage as Haley and Christie.
Quite frankly, I think he does a favor to the Republican Party for staying in Florida as he will insulate the state as a win for the presidential candidate whoever it is.
Take away culture war material from the last 2 legislative sessions in that state...what sets him apart from rick scott?

I mean, on credentials, did we already forget as a country how horribly wrong our neck of the woods addressed COVID and how this guy went against the grain, stood up to all the naysayers and handled it far better? Something that literally impacted everybody. That alone is why I like the guy and far outweighs the stuff I disagree with him about.
And yet hasn’t stopped droves of people from moving there. Individuals and businesses.
Not to mention the teacher pay statistic is hilarious. You want to get into the education issue? How about the fact that my young kids basically had no school for a year+ while my Florida colleagues had their kids in full day, no mask, by September 2020 and even earlier for those who enrolled in summer sessions. I think a key part of education is you know schools actually being open and teaching.
The most ridiculous restriction in NJ was limiting two golfers per hole, so do the math….36 people on 100 acres max, but race riots were okay.
DeSantis also handled the nursing home issues extremely well during the pandemic. The school restrictions continue to have a huge mental health hangover in states that kept them closed.
He’s a great governor here in Florida.

I think you might want to ask the people of Florida. Winning by 20 points is something Rick Scott couldn't dream of. So while we're sitting up here in the northeast looking on from a distance, the people actually living there seem to love the way the guy operates. Isn't that what we all want, someone who is going to lead and in a way that makes us want to vote for them again and again?

I was a registered Democrat for years, I registered Republican for the 2016 Prez Primary in NJ, voted for Cruz.
I distrust both parties, I only vote for people that are not Uniparty shills for WEF Globalists. At the moment, that eliminates almost every Democrat and most Republicans

SHUSA I agree Obama was a successful community organizer ,but I thought a successful governor was more credentials to run fir president obviously you think community organizer is a comparable experience and I don’t.Curious if others on the board agree with me or you.
History shows governors make the best presidents. In that role they have to manage a budget and an organization. Senators I have no such experience.
Obama really didn’t accomplish much as A president. He was more concerned about image and quite frankly was divisive.
