The Big East player rankings sounds more like a list for potential NBA players than one for the best college players.

Of the players listed only Brunson 'might' have a bigger effect on his college team.

And a call considered among the worst in NCAA history. For a guy with a reputation as a screamer he did handle that phantom foul with remarkable self restraint and respect for the institution of college basketball.

During a Booster Club trip many years ago a group of us saw saw John Clougherty at an shopping area in South Carolina. He saw us approaching with our SHU apparel and smiled. He was very polite and clearly as he discussed the game he admitted to 'in so many words' blowing the call.

He also said that PJ could have wrecked his career if he wanted to but instead didn't focus on the call and Clougherty noted he would forever be in PJ's debt.
