Start game with love fest connecting what's his name to Ricky P.
Per Turner Desi, a small forward, is part of the back court. When did a 3 become art of the back court? Guard = back court, forward = front court or so I thought.
Said Desi went to Abraham Lincoln HS in the Bronx. I realize Brooklyn is a suburb of the Bronx but....
Mullen is a young coach. What?
Are they trying to out Vitale Dukie V? Hard to listen to.

they were pretty terrible today, especially with that "timeout" call where they cued the transition music and almost cut to commercial, probably the producer's fault but whatever

Desi may be, but they said Abraham Lincoln HS is in the Bronx. I'm from the Bronx, and ALHS is NOT in the Bronx! Announcers gave me a headache.

Nah, you were probably just cranky cause you had to get up early Sunday morning to watch the game. Either that or you were still hangin' in one of the sports books <g>.

And to think I liked you back in the day. lol

If the roster lists his home town as the Bronx and his high school as Lincoln, what else would you expect an announcer from Louisiana to say?

Ah, it's not like Lincoln HS is an unknown nationally. He's probably the only announcer unfamiliar with ALHS or where it's located. It's a shame no other well known NYC hs payers ever went there or went on to stardom. Duh!

Would you rather have had Dick Stockton do the game? (He's so past his prime that I think he actually knew Mother Seton)

After having a TV contract with ESPN for all these years, we very rarely got any compliments or promotions from them. Now we have a contract with fox who promote us and the league like crazy. Same thing happens with the BIG network , SEC network, etc. Sure it is a blatant lie when Bob Wenzel says that EJ is doing a great job on the BIG network for every RU game, but it's his job and it helps RU.
Point is, who cares if they don't know where Brooklyn is or that it's a borough. All the promotion and compliments from the announcers helps us with any potential recruit who may be watching the game.
