as Steve Prohm from Murray State takes the Iowa State job. He should do well there. Glad we're letting all the talent get scooped up while we sit here with this utter loser for another season. Thanks alot Lyons! Great job, even better leadership!

I had Prohm on my list of candidates for SH as well. According to press reports its a 5 year deal at $1.5 million a year.

The good news is Willard should be fired Thursday of Big East Tournament week. Hopefully we will immediately contact Hurley and get a deal done.

Everything that happens between now and then is just white noise. Anyone who follows this team knows we will finish the non-conf with 1 or 2 losses and then endure a 6-7 game losing streak in February. If you think otherwise you are just kidding yourself.

This is the first season in a very long time where I have zero expectations. I'm also not even sure if Willard gets fired after the season. I have absolutely no faith in the SHU administration or Lyons when it comes to the basketball program either.

Sticking with Prohm, I would take him in a minute. However, there is some risk. He is still young (40 years old), has only one NCAA tournament under his belt in four years as a head coach (granted he did score a rare win for the Racers and the OVC) and has never really been involved in a power 5 program, save being the student manager at Alabama. Bill Kennedy is an ok mentor but he is no Rick Pitino. I am happy he cashed in, although following the Mayor at ISU might be tricky. I guess we will find out if he can make the leap.

I'm as anti Willard as there is but I'm hoping for a successful season. I just can't see myself rooting against the team so he gets fired.

This looks like a 50/50 team to make the NIT. I'm sorry I can't get excited about this in a coaches 6th year here.

Prohm never was coming and never will come to Seton Hall.

not saying you're wrong, but why do you think so? I figured we might have a shot b/c despite his success there, coming out of the OVC I thought he might need a little jump to a school like ours before he went to a big state school. Boy was I wrong.

This may be a win-win season. We play well and make the NCAA , and we win. We play poorly , usual mid season issues, then we get a new coach and we win.
The only way we don't win is if we make the NIT as high number seed and Willard is back again.

At the risk of reopening the polemic wars, we have upgraded pay but this is still viewed as a coach's Vietnam. And to quote an earlier poster "if you think otherwise you are kidding yourself "

We know all too well what all of those facts could lead to.... well except i guess he did make the tournament.

I think some of you are setting yourselves up for a big let down if youre banking on Willard being let go this season.
