Another Division I coaching re-hire

Ritchie McKay last coached at Liberty in 2009, and has since been associate head coach under Tony Bennett at Virginia. This re-hiring stuff will soon become an epidemic. I's just a matter of time before Seton Hall re-hires Louis Orr. The administration at Seton Hall has yet to comment on the possibility.

This is much odder than DePaul bringing back Dave Leitao.

It's getting like the NBA recycling the same names over and over again . I have absolutely no study to back this up but I would venture a guess that when you hire as your coach someone who had previously been a head coach and then became an assistant that the compensation package is materially less then hiring an existing head coach and there is no huge buyout connected with the hire.

I think a lot of coaches at least younger coaches now look at DePaul as a career killer job. Fordham certainly is a career killer like Jim posted, but I guess the EKU guy really wants a HC job. I think when we playerd Liberty it was Barrett and MTE senior year and Liberty won their conference that year and made the NCAA along with us!
