Any chance we make the NIT

our last 11 games or so, said it all, doubt it very seriously... but maybe?

I think SHU's chances are very slim, the NIT is a numbers thing now in terms of accomplishment ( RPI, record, etc ), used to be a huge slant to Big Conferences with " Names ", different now in my opinion. I think there are to many good teams with better resumes. I hope I am wrong.

Too bad it was not like it was about seven or eight years ago, as all a Big East team needed was an ending 500 record or better and they would get in. Actually, despite all the horrors we had in February and March our RPI is still not all that bad. I would say there is about a 50/50 chance we get in. (I agree - it would be great to get to see the seniors play at least one more time!)

No!

No chance at all nor do we deserve to play in that tourney based on our record and performances in the second half of the season.

You must be a glutton for punishment. BTW, what 3 seniors? Willard only played 2 seniors in the last game.

Is the team still practicing on the miracle they make the NIT or are they on their own

Kevin has already headed south for the closest golf course...

Shouldn't he be out watching the High School tournament results
for his next job.

Rules for the NIT have changed. And with conference champs like St Francis losing their tournament games they get an automatic NIT bid. We don't deserve a bid anyway.

Also the NCAA selection committee wil now reveal the first 4 teams out of the NCAA and they get a # 1 NIT seed.

Hope not, especially if we have to play a game at Walsh, and lose there as we did in our last appearance. Can't believe the NIT hangs on, and now there is a tournament even for teams that don't get in the NIT.

Actually there are TWO tournaments besides the NIT. At least there were last year.

Zero percent chance. Here is the latest NIT Bracketology. Several of these school are automatic qualifiers for after finishing first in their conference during the regular season.

#1 seeds: UCLA, Temple, Tulsa, Miami
#2 seeds: Murray st, Stanford, Illinois, Texas A&M
#3 seeds: Old Dominion, Richmond, UConn, Rhode Island
#4 seeds: Pitt, Alabama, LA Tech, Green Bay
#5 seeds: Illinois st, GW, St. Mary's, UC Davis
#6 seeds: ASU, C. Michigan, Michigan, Iona
#7 seeds: S Dakota St, Yale, W&M, NC Central
#8 seeds: Montana, Bucknell, St. Francis NY, Charleston Southern

Cannot fathom any possible scenario. Our name wouldn't even come up in consideration unless there's some agenda to get a Big East team into the field assuming all 6 NCAA candidates (Villanova, Georgetown, Butler, Providence, Xavier, St. John's) earn bids.

How could you ever have a legit tournament and consider a team that's just 16-15 with a 6-12 conference record who has gone 1-9 in their final 10 games?
