Anyone not renewing

I really wrestled with the men's. I renewed. I always knew I was going to buy Women's tix for the first time this year.

For all my bitching SHU got more of my $$... LOL.

For all the bitching done on th8s board people still love the team and will still continue to support.

their tics?

I am not renewing....largely due to the situation we endured last year....and really for many, many years, but also some personal issues. Will take a year or two off from attending games...then see where the program stands at that time.

Renewed mine. My father loves to go. If he didn't I wouldn't. And I'm a 30 year ticket holder

shupat - curious, how much were the women's tix? i probably won't be able to make a lot of the games but i think tony b. and the girls have earned the support... if the price is reasonable i would buy a season package and give them away etc.

$45 per ticket.... If you go to 5 games the tickets pay for themselves (since walk up tickets cost $10).

I went to 5 or 6 games last year. When I found out the $45 price for THE SEASON, I had to buy them.

Actually upgraded. Second row from floor. Isaiah will lead this team to exceed expectations.
I've actually yet to officially renew more due to just being busy with a number of things. But I'm hoping to renew. I think/hope this year's team will be exciting to watch, especially if the chemistry issues are nonexistent.

I did not renew. 1st time since the late 80's I won't have seasons. I will attend some games but couldn't bring myself to recommit after seeing last years debacle. I will be back with season tix once the inevitable occurs.

Don't have season tickets due to distance and work issues. But go to about eight games per year. Number this year will depend on how team is playing. Kevin will hear it from me unless he turns it around. Usually spend to 2X on shirts and stuff for gifts. Not buying anything this year.definitely will see more womens games.

Such a shame the displeasure with our men's coach is affecting the decision of so many to not attend men's games. That's a vicious cycle that hurts the program.

Hopefully the team does well early on and fans who haven't bought season tickets will support the team in person during the Big East season.

Notwithstanding the tone of this board, I believe that few long time fans will not renew.

Dropped season tickets 2 years ago when I realized this was a terrible program. Still root for them but just don't care nearly as much as I use too.

The shame should be on the administration. You even said it yourself last season that barring a disaster Willard would get a 6th year. I would say the last 10 games, Sina leaving during that time, locker room dysfunction, and the absolute embarrassment of getting waxed in the 1st round of the BET was beyond a disaster. Money on Willard's deal is a convenient excuse. Hall could find a way to come up with the money on the buyout but they choose not too. The only way for fans to show their displeasure is not to pay for tickets anymore. Who can blame them?

Dan
Fans will support their team no matter what the personality of the coach is as long as they win but the problem is that this coach doesn't win enough and worse then that there is a wide-spread perception that they never will while he's the coach.

So fans shouldn't boo "students", fans shouldn't give up season tickets, fans shouldn't stop donating and fans shouldn't stop attending fundraisers/events, oh and don't forget that the fans cannot post negative things on message boards... No matter the state of the program or the actions of the head coach/coaching staff or the inaction of the administration?

So... the fans should do nothing to show their displeasure? Interesting take on things...

uh, you people are ridiculous some times. Dan says it's a shame that the sentiment toward the coach has affected people's decisions, not that peoples' actions are shameful. Dan cannot feel badly that our dismal performance is having a direct effect on our fan base?

Theres a difference between being bad, but still trying and going out of your way to suck and laugh in the face of the fans. You cant blame people for not caring when a program is so wildly disloyal to the fans.

I agree with you that I also find myself "caring less" under the Willard regime, but you are one of the most active members of the board. You have 22,000 posts and spend countless hours a day/week on piratecrew....imagine how much time you would dedicate to hall ball if you still cared?!?!

Even though I say I care less than I have in the past, I think deep down I still really care about the team it's just that Willard has broken my spirit and sucked the life out of this program.

Reading comp?

The shame must go somewhere... Where do you think it goes?

But it's apparently a "shame" and an action/process that creates a cycle that hurts the program.

To me, that reads... Not renewing tickets due to how you personally feel about the coach is a shame and hurts the program.

Then add in everything else.

There are 4 posters that said they wouldn't renew & one of them is Pirate Ed. (He's says the same thing every year) I wouldn't call that "so many".

I do not want to pile on here. However, I am another individual who is not renewing my season tickets. I have had season tickets since 1985. I believe that the school made a grave error in not getting rid of Willard after the 2014 - 2015 season. This guy is a vampire who has literally sucked the life and energy out of our flagship program. I do not care what the buyout is. I do not care what it would have cost to get rid of this man. Simple metrics dictate that retaining Willard will cost much more in the long run than firing him would have cost. I will always root for the team and this year it will be from afar. This year I will physically attend only the women's games.

There's far more dissent than just on this thread. Thus my comments.

After 25 years, I am out , until Willard leaves. Made my decision while stewing over the 2nd half of the Marquette game at MSG. I'm going to several games, I'm just withdrawing my financial support. I've been a pretty big opponent of hurting the Department by withholding funds, but when they are making decisions that cause the program further harm, I had no other choice.

I didn't really consider not renewing; what else would I do on a 20 degree night on a Tuesday in February. Might as well go pound a few brews at the rock and maybe get a good pre game meal. I'm a glutton for punishment, I guess.

Watching our half court offense for prolonged periods takes special dedication. Watching it without the ability to periodically change the channel is pure insanity.

This is my second year away. Sick of Seton Hall supporting mediocrity and not seeming to give a damn, so I don't give a damn anymore either.
