April Recruiting Tweets

One of Jaquan's teammates mentioned, and Mr Consistent

Chisom Okpara

So getting back to the title of this thread, Okpra is the type of kid SHU should be going after, hard working basketball players, not a SF, PF, PG, etc., all around basketball players that are not position specific

im just saying this board always thinks shu is the only school that exists. all our recruits are great, we are the best at developing players, our coach was on thr brink of being stolen by VT...

this board tends to see things in a bubble. that no other teams exist, doing the exact same thing with good coaches and player development. Our success under willard in the shu bubble has been great. to the outside world its decent.
Please leave our bubble

Why are you so worried about what the outside world thinks? Many on here can view things objectively and some in the outside world, including self proclaimed recruiting gurus, have never physically seen some of the players but rank them according to how others have. Lol

So would you prefer Okpra or Oweh?
In my opinion, whoever wants to commit first. Okpra Would be better since he is a solid small forward, we lose Rhoden, and we have not had luck with Blair kids (he may string us along and we lose out on Okpra). Oweh is more of a shooting guard and lots of guards on team. Lol

True. Okpra sounds like he really stretches the defense. Seems to have pretty good range. And he’s 6’7”. Big outside shooter. Recruiting experts make it sound like he’s going to blow up soon

I know its early, but with the players we are working on 50-150 players, think 2022 class could be as good as the 2021 class (minus the transfers)

The reason Holy Cross thought they had a chance was bc his father both played and coached at Holy Cross; not because the PL is more appropriate for his coaching level as you seem to want everyone to believe.
It was also after the Marquette loss, and before the run of NCAA appearances. No, KW was not a serious P5 contender then. Funny what a half decade can do.

I think everyone in the country will be interested in this kid, assuming he doesn’t turn pro.

Once you opened the gates to total free agency did anyone think that there wasn’t going to be widespread tampering and that the number of players in the portal would rise to record numbers. Recruiting is a dirty business and with no serious consequences if you get caught it’s going to stay that way.
