1. Say what??? Grant, "the offense is ahead of the defense". Surely that wasn't Kevin Willard in the post game.

2. You're not going to lose many games when your two headed point guards split 14 assists and just 2 turnovers. Nice to have Powell outside and Obiagu/Gill inside.

3. SHU has played three games to date at Walsh and have yet to trail. Last night SHU with the lead 39:45, Wagner, 00:00

4. Pick your poison. Blocked shots and double teams on the perimeter or better defensive rebounding?

5. Did Seton Hall just play Wagner's basketball team or was it the football team?

6. SHU was never in danger but clearly the Powell 4 point play finally took the wind out of the Seahawks' sails. My question, how the hell does someone that small even reach the basket, never mind make it with that kind of contact?

7. The Wagner coach was animated and worked the refs all game long. Not sure (as I sat behind the bench) I saw Grant do that once. He'll learn but it's not in his nature.

8. Nelson was superb on offense and had 3 steals to boot. But he still must learn to stay with his man on the perimeter and not help out. Doing that led to a couple of easy 3 point attempts.

9. Still preseason with the whistle happy refs last night?

10 Tale of 2 halves. SHU missed 9 foul shots in the first and and then just 1 in the second. The center combo of Gill and Obiauu put on their Steph Curry shoes hitting 5-5. Don't blink because you're probably not seeing that again this year.

11, Interesting substitution when both Gill and Obiagu each got into early foul trouble and Grant went with Brodie. Darnell struggled, especially on D. But did the opponent allow Grant to make that choice? One that he might not have made in a different situation

12. Can't see. That's what I told former SHU player John Allen who was standing (not sitting) in front of me blocking my court vision. When he eventually turned he moved about 2 inches still blocking my view. A bitch for a while because there was no where else to sit as my area was packed.

13, Staying with Allen....He was trying to get Grant's attention a few times during the game. Yelling out his name. But only once did Grant turn and at that point just ignored him as the game was going on.

14. Sandro had a very good stat line but one flaw, he had trouble defending his smaller and quicker assignment on the perimeter.

15. Give Wagner's 'center' Pat Szpir (12 points/11 rebounds) a lot of credit. He showed no fear matching up with SHU's twin towers.

16. Until Powell's ridiculous 4 point play Wagner out-scraped and out-hustled the Hall.

17. Powell said the obvious in the post game. We had jitters early and it took time for us to relax.

18. Jared Rhoden did a little bit of everything last night. Actually played a few more seconds than did Cale. And not in garbage time.

19. Q, 2 for 2 (from the arc). Has a nice ring to it.

20. Samuel got his feet wet but did not play to his level. On the other hand who was that former walk-on wearing #33? 4-4 from the field 1-1 from the arc. 9 points in 12 minutes. 1 steal, great defense and oh yeah, +17.
