Hope we are not battling DePaul for 10 place.I don’t see us surviving in BE because we will always be near last place in NILand being there will get unbearable eventually.

From what little I have seen , I might flip 3 & 4 , otherwise it looks good. It might be shaping to be a battle with DP for the title of bottom feeder. Somebody must find their outside shot or Sha had better start checking out the intramural teams for a shooter. See what happens Wednesday------

Wow! How the once mighty have fallen. Fighting DePaul for last place Yikes!

Bad loss to Nebraska at home

4. SJU 5-2
Could easily be 7-0

Schedule too soft to be higher

Schedule Charmin thin. But they are kicking butt

Lots of home cooking

9. SHU 4-3
Had to win 2 of 3 down south

10. Nova 3-4
Neptune drowning underwater

11. Georgetown 4-1
They'll be 7-1 with their loss by 21 to the only halfway decent team on their schedule.

Creighton getting taken to wood shed again this time by San Diego State --Know Ashworth is hurt but no reason to look as bad as this.

No one knows what changes Sha will make at this point and just a few could turn things around. At this point I see us anywhere from 7th to 11th. A lot depends also on how the other teams perform. So far a lot of clunkers by most of the BE teams to date.

Haven’t seen enough of the teams to rank them but I would definitely agree that Marquette is in the penthouse and we are in the basement, with Nova one floor up from us.

The BE to date overall is a major disappointment, with SH leading that pack. As a result, interest is at an all time low.

Two nice wins by Nova and PC last night. Dixon will keep Nova afloat this season unless Neptune messes it up. Based on those two games I would put both of them over Gtown and DePaul.

The Big East has a great opportunity to undo some of the “damaging” losses to date during the Big East - Big 12 challenge started last night with wins by Villanova and Providence.

UConn up on Baylor by 5 midway through second half.

Week 5

1. Marquette 9-1
Hiccup at Iowa St notwithstanding.

2. SJU 7-2
Barely over the two time defending national champions.

3. UConn 7-3
Who besides Dan Hurley doesn't want to go to Hawaii?

4. Creighton 7-3
Win over Kansas now doesn't seem quite as impressive.

5. Butler 7-2
Boy oh boy the bottom of the Big East is a crap shoot for now.

6. Nova 6-4
Good week for the coach

7. Xavier 7-2
Played three decent teams and lost two. Potential to move up.

8. DePaul 7-1
Their schedule until they got destroyed by Texas Tech was the biggest joke in the country

9. Georgetown 7-2
Speaking of jokes. Georgetown has played two decent at best teams and was routed by both.

10. Providence 6-4
One decent win vs #47 BYU all year.

11. Seton Hall 5-5
Open up the 0ffense Sha!

Who besides Dan Hurley doesn't want to go to Hawaii?
Two of the refs that left us with something like a 2 to 1 foul disparity were big east refs.

Since Hawaii, we've beaten number 15 ranked Baylor (without Karaban) and Texas at Texas. The rumors of our demise may have been exaggerated.

Lurking

Played #8 Alabama tough on road

5. Nova 8-4
4 Ws in a row

6. Xavier 8-3

7. DePaul 8-2
Heady play so far for the Blue Demons

9. Providence 7-5
Playing a little better

3 L's in a row including at home to N Dakota St

I mostly agree with you. But I would include SJU with UConn and Marquette.

Also, I think that maybe Creighton will be a strong #4.

Significant drop in quality from #1 and #2 to the rest of the field.
Here are my tiers:

1 - UCONN
2 - Marquette

3 - St. John's
4 - Creighton

5 - Xavier
6 - Villanova

7 - Butler
8 - Georgetown
9 - DePaul
10 - Providence

Xavier may be dropping soon...

You have to feel bad for Fremantle. The guy just can't catch a break.

Week 7

1. UConn 10-3 2-0
Marquette nipping at their heels

2. Marquette 11-2 2-0
And conversely the Pitino's are nipping at their heels

3. SJU 10-2 2-0
Almost slipped against Providence

4. Georgetown 10-2 2-0
Say what? But who else?

5. Creighton 8-5 1-1
Back on track after beating Nova

6. Nova 8-5 1-1
5 game streak over after close loss to Creighton

7. Xavier 8-5 0-2
3 tough losses in a row with injuries being a factor

8. Providence 7-6 1-1
Barely over Butler

9. Butler 7-6 0-2
5 L's in a row

10. DePaul 8-4 0-2
Now that the schedule is no longer ridiculous the real Blue Devils are rearing their ugly heads

11. Seton Hall 5-8 0-2
Watch out DePaul, SHU is lurking. LOL

Hard to know what to think about Georgetown. They really don't have quality wins, except for beating that Canadian team that was formally in the big east, which probably doesn't count as one.
