As I see it Jan 12

They blew out Creighton who then beat Nova. So for now I say who else?

Hard to know what to think about Georgetown. They really don't have quality wins, except for beating that Canadian team that was formally in the big east, which probably doesn't count as one.
I think Creighton at home may still out to be a good win, and perhaps they caught them on an off-night and/or before they could adjust to life without Isaacs. Everyone says that foreign kid that Creighton just got eligible is the goods, so that should be a boost.

Week 8

Only change are the records

1. UConn 10-3 2-0
Only because of their recent history

2. Marquette 11-2 2-0
To be #1 you have to beat #1

3. SJU 11-2 2-0
Incredibly easy schedule as they don't play UConn or Marquette until February

4. Georgetown 11-2 2-0
Marquette and UConn coming soon

5. Creighton 8-5 1-1
Two difficult games next. SJU and Marquette

6. Nova 8-5 1-1
Xavier and then the top 3 back to back to back

7. Xavier 8-5 0-2
Hall next

8. Providence 7-6 1-1
Next up Marquette and UConn

9. Butler 7-6 0-2
5 L's in a row

10. DePaul 9-4 0-2
The Ls are going to start to pile up

11. Seton Hall 5-8 0-2
1 game in 16 days as the rest is needed to refocus

1 - UCONN
2 - Marquette

3 - St. John's
4 - Creighton

5 - Xavier
6 - Villanova
7 - Georgetown

8 - Butler

I would quadruple space 11 under 8-9. 😵‍💫

Week 9

1. Marquette 13-2 4-0
Playing better ball right now than UConn

2. UConn 12-3 4-0
Scuffling in conference play. 3 tight Ws and DePaul

3. SJU 12-3 3-1
Soft league schedule to date

4. Georgetown 12-2 3-0
Marquette and UConn next up

5. Nova 10-5 3-1
Tough week coming up. Now we'll see what they are made of

6. Creighton 9-6 2-2
Schedule lightens up

7. Xavier 9-6 1-3
Freemantle's back just in time

8. Providence 7-8 1-3
Just played at UConn down to the wire

9. Butler 7-8 0-4
7 L's in a row and counting

10. DePaul 9-6 0-4
Did you really just lose a game by 44 points

11. Seton Hall 5-9 0-3
First Big East W this Wed. LOL

Marquette (best team in the league right now)
Uconn (right there but losing Mcneeley is a blow)

Creighton (still have two all league caliber players and perhaps the best home court in the league)
St Johns (the outside threats need to start making shots)

Gtown (year 2 looking much better than the year 1 disaster)
Nova (saving Neptune’s job?)
Xavier (still a believer if Fremantle is back)

Providence (Hopkins injury has been a killer)
Butler (0-4 in the league, but they hang around in all these games, home or away)

Depaul (if they don’t beat us this week they go back to being the Depaul of old)
Seton Hall (see above)

Insanity to have providence at 10- especially since they Beat DePaul. Lost to the #2 and 3 teams in conference by 3 and by 2.

Was that who PC really is vs UCONN yesterday or is UCONN really struggling defensively? UCONN looked awful in the first half then got rolling in the 2nd half with the ear splitting home crowd behind them.

UConn is struggling defensively.

This year's incarnation is going to have to outscore people rather than lock them down defensively. With McNeeley we should be able to do that against most teams. Without him? It's a lot closer question.

Week 10

1. Marquette 14-2 5-0
Cream of the crop

2. SJU 14-3 5-1
Credit where credit is due

3. UConn 13-4 5-1
Unbelievable NCAA run will fall this season

4. Nova 12-6 4-2
Split tough week against UConn and SJU

5. Georgetown 12-4 3-2
Exposed, but still the surprise team in the conference

7. Creighton 10-6 3-2
Soon to replace the Hoyas?

7. Xavier 10-7 2-4
With Freemantle back gonna have to do it now

8. Providence 9-8 3-3
After Butler & SHU the schedule toughens

9. Butler 7-10 0-6
Now the dregs

10. DePaul 9-8 0-6
This is the worst team in the league currently. But they did not have SHU's OOC losses

11. Seton Hall 6-10 1-4
Where's the D?

1 - Marquette
2 - UCONN
3 - St. John's

4 - Creighton

1. UCONN -- (this might be bias because I've watched them a lot more than other Big East teams, but I love their 2-4 when McNeeley is healthy, and I love watching Karaban play -- he is the example of someone who you cannot truly measure in stats because of everything he brings by way of intelligence and intangibles)
2. Marquette -- (close 2 -- susceptible perhaps on the interior/paint but can hurt you so many different ways and play relentless defense, etc)

3. St. John's (still need shots to fall but impressive to beat Nova by double digits with Dev Smith injured for the entire second half. If Smith is injured for a prolonged period they might slip on this list).

4. Creighton (still a believer with the Kalk/Ashworth combo and the HC)
5. Nova (supporting case around Dixon seems like a much better "fit" this year)

6. Gtown (I'm a believer even if they got smoked yesterday in a statement W for Uconn coming off the Nova disappointment)

7. Xavier (still a believer in the offensive output, especially if Freemantle stays healthy, and the head coach)

8. Providence (Hopkins injury is a killer)

9. Butler (winless, but they hang around in these games and will eventually get some Ws IMO)
10. Seton Hall (over Depaul b/c we beat them at home and hung with Providence)
11. Depaul (still think they will get one or two teams because of the 3-ball)
