Conference is going to be very tight but clearly Nova, Xavier, and Providence to me are are tier 1. I think we have a chance to get 2 wins from this group.

Then tier 2 it's Butler, us, Gtown; remains to be seen if it's Marquette or maybe DePaul that ends being that # 7 team. Should be able to get 4 wins against all of these teams.

The bottom of the barrel; St Johns, Creighton; inexcusable if we lose a game to either of those teams. Should be 4 wins.

I'm seeing 10 and 8 for us, or + or minus 1 from 10 wins. Very possible.

9. DePaul 6-8 - More talent than their record indicates?
I agree with your rankings, but particularly agreed with this comment. Depaul does actually have a few decent players outside of Garrett. Eli Cain looked very good yesterday, Stimage, Henry and Tommy Hamilton are also not bad players.

Dan, I believe you thought Eli Cain was not good enough to be a BE player. Looks like a solid freshman

Think he's a decent player. Didn't want him at the Hall if that's what you're referring to.

I made a comment at the game yesterday that Eli Cain reminded me of a player that Gonzo would recruit.

Did you see his body language whenever he got a foul? His jawing at the refs and opposing players?

It was the kids 2nd BE game on a below average team and that's how he acts? No thank you.

Pat, I noticed that a few DePaul players were doing that. One time Leitao got so upset with Simpson for his on court attitude (yelling at a teammate), as well as for making a bad pass he bench him immediately.

1. Providence. 2 great players, one of them perhaps the best in the nation, is a pretty good formula for winning tourney games. (note Villanova's tourney success under jay often correlates with the NBA quality of his players). Not the deepest team, but one of the best half court offensive coaches in the nation. Cooley doesn't need gr8 players for that offense (think Jared Dudley and Craig smith going from unranked scrub recruits to NBA players). The role players are looking pretty good.

2. THE Nova. Climbing our way back from the bottom ranks.

3. Xavier. Can't look too down on them for the nova game. Sumner's injury was clearly a distraction. Nova was going to win the on campus game even without the injury, but that really changed things.

4. Butler. Tough week, but they did win a true road game against a top ten team just two weeks ago. Not that butler is bad, but the BIG EAST is a very, very good conference and they are going up against some gr8 team.

-------

5. Seton Hall. Should be ranked this week. Doing what they are supposed to do. Not in the top tier yet, but a quality team that will dance and should be be considered one of the favorites for 2017. A little sloppy down the stretch against DePaul, but still got the w.

--------

6. Georgetown. Still have a chance to dance, but below 50%. They actually look good when they try.

7. Marquette. Really needed to beat Georgetown today to stay a serious tourney threat. Record is good, but way too soft an ooc schedule. And the BIG EAST is such a tough conference they are going to struggle to find 8 conference wins.

-------

8. Creighton
9. St johns
10. DePaul

Surprised they have nova below prov. Also, crazy to have St. John's anything but last.

I don't think we will be ranked nor should we. Hope the voters disagree.

Remember Providence returns all 5 starters next year, that is if they don't go pro.
Dunn is gone and Bentil certainly might be.

I hope not as I always want to see a strong Big East. But the kids have to do what's best for them.

Don't forget Bullock... A 6'7/6'8 swing forward who can post up, rebound, shoot 3s and dribble. averaging 14 and 8.

Not a bad prospect either.

Bingo, exactly as I see it with one minor difference. I have DePaul in a tier by itself. Creighton and Marquette are better, St. John's worse.

1-3 Nova , Xavier , PC . Not much to separate the teams and any one could finish from first to third.

4. Butler - Just below the top three .

5&6. Could be either GT or SH. SH doesn't go as deep as GT and SH must win at home against GT to get to 5th in the Conference.

7. Marquette - Still a team with enough talent to pull a surprise especially with Ellenson and Fischer up front.

8. DePaul - Better then most predicted

9. Creighton - Could finish ahead of DePaul .

10. SJU
