I don't want to in any way take credit for what you are about to read. It's news shared by someone VERY high up in the Villanova chain. The name would mean nothing to you, but the position would.

This came directly after the loss to Penn (shared email with permission to post) ....

He was pretty stoic and said this year was a reload year. While disappointed in the losses, he said that Furman is now ranked, Penn will probably win the Ivy League, so they weren't awful given the roster turnover. But expectations for Jay are at a new level and he felt they were overrated in rankings to start the season.

We talked about the BE and he said from his view, he expects Villanova, Seton Hall, Butler and Marquette to all finish 10-8. He said write in DePaul with their two wins and everything else is a crap-shoot.

Regarding Quinerly, he said he wished he had gone to Seton Hall! He doesn't listen, has unrealistic expectations and is frustrating Jay to no end. He did mention his tweet last night about this being why VU was his second choice. He said there is a strong chance that Jahvon transfers.

Despite that, he is high on the squad and thinks they will return to a top ten team next year and the year after.

When asked what he thought of Kevin he was very complementary. A good coach that is continuing to grow...he said, heck, he beat Calipari!

Added that there were still knocks on Jay four years ago about not winning and advancing with talented teams, so it's just a matter of getting over the hump for Kevin.

He loves the staff KW has put together.
