STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Sophomore Anthony Pacillo (Lyndhurst, N.J.) gave up just two hits over five scoreless innings as the Seton Hall baseball team won its ninth straight game with a 6-1 victory at Wagner on Wednesday.

Pacillo struck out six batters and walked only one to improve to 2-2 on the season.

In the top of the fifth inning, the Pirates had a two out rally to be the first to break through on the scoreboard. With the bases empty and two down, three straight Seton Hall batters singled, the last of which by Jenkins, drove in Ryan Ramiz (Freehold, N.J.) to give The Hall a 1-0 advantage.

The Pirates' offense finally broke out in the top of the sixth inning. Sal Annunziata (Bronx, N.Y.) led off with a single and moved to second on a single by Tyler Boyd (Succasunna, N.J.). Joe Poduslenko (Glen Mills, Pa.) put down a perfect sacrifice bunt to move both runners into scoring position. Chris Chiaradio (Teaneck, N.J.) singled to drive in Annunziata with the Pirates' second run. A failed pickoff attempt by Wagner's catcher sailed high of first base, which allowed Boyd to score and advanced Chiaradio to third. With two outs, Zack Weigel (Oak Park, Ill.) singled home Chiaradio to extend Seton Hall's lead to 4-0.

Seton Hall added two more insurance runs in the top of the seventh inning, aided by a costly Wagner error, to take a 6-0 lead. With one out, Rob Dadona (Staten Island, N.Y.) pinch hit and singled up the middle. With two outs, Chiaradio walked. Matt Fortin (Nashua, N.H.) followed with a scorcher to third and the third baseman booted the ball. Dadona scored and Chiaradio advanced to second. Ramiz followed with an RBI single to give The Hall a 6-0 lead.

In all, six Seton Hall pitchers combined to allow just one run.

Weigel and Ramiz had two hits apiece for The Hall. Jenkins was the lone Pirate to reach base three times. He also added to his BIG EAST lead with two more stolen bases.

Seton Hall will return to action on Friday, April 10 when it travels to St. John's for the first of a three-game series this weekend. First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
