One of sports’ most iconic coaching tenures is over.

They need players to compete with bills and dolphins. Heck possibly the Jets too if they can fix their OL and give this guy Rodgers some time to make plays.Amazing. What a seismic rebuild in NE. You’re talking an entirely new structure and culture. Good luck.
I wonder if Mac Jones was in fact forced on him.
Bill still has life on his fastball. He’ll win somewhere.
Well the owner did frequent hookers in a strip mall, so not the beacon of class.I believe Forbes ranks the Pats as the 3rd most valuable franchise in 2023 behind the Cowboys & Yankees. I can see them taking a huge hit in the years to come. Belichick & Brady made this franchise what it is today. Both deserved a better farewell.
lol. I don’t think the Raiders thought it was before its time.Love him, hate him, Bill B. is an icon, and one of the best to every do it.
As a Giants fan, I've always had a soft spot for the guy, because he played a huge role in the 86 and 90 titles, including devising the famous game plan for the Bills/Giants Super Bowl that now hangs in the football HOF. Some younger folks may not realize what a huge upset that was at the time. The Giants were playing with a backup QB (Hostettler), who granted became a starter after the fact, but was still a backup at that point. The Bills were an absolute juggernaut, with Hall of Famers and Pro Bowlers all over the field. And not just their high-powered offense that was a bit before it's time, but with guys like Bruce Smith and Daryl Talley on defense.
I thought Bill's best work was the game before out in candlestick park taking down the 49ers. I was pretty sure everyone had the 49ers winning the superbowl that year again.Love him, hate him, Bill B. is an icon, and one of the best to every do it.

Brady benefited from a seriously strong defense and in the Brady years the Pats won a lot without having to score 30 points a game. Brady is definitely/possibly the best but I think they both benefited from each other. You can say Brady won at Tampa too but they also had a great D the year they won.So it's obvious. Guy couldn't win without Brady
OL and DL have gone to crap lately compared to the lines Brady had.So it's obvious. Guy couldn't win without Brady
Ha. Exactly. The K-Gun, I think they called it. More aligned with where the game went, but most weren’t playing offense that way back then, and certainly not nearly as effective as they didn’t with 3/4 HOFers on that offense.lol. I don’t think the Raiders thought it was before its time.
Got smoked in the AFC title game 51-3.
I don’t know when he retired but for years the Pats had that legendary OL coach Dante Scarneccia (or however it is spelled). He was viewed as a magician and great great coach. Also having a QB like Brady no doubt helps with the OL play.OL and DL have gone to crap lately compared to the lines Brady had.
hes also 71 years old.Amazing. What a seismic rebuild in NE. You’re talking an entirely new structure and culture. Good luck.

brady got the ball out in like half a second on average (hyperbole). would make the giants line look good. plus anytime he got touched the play wouldnt count for one reason or the other.I don’t know when he retired but for years the Pats had that legendary OL coach Dante Scarneccia (or however it is spelled). You can only write your resignation on the back of napkin once.Just saw the press conference. I give a lot of credit to Bill for standing up there with Kraft, acting as a united front. Whether it was genuine unification or not, Bill carried himself very well and showed more emotion than at any other time I can recall seeing. Truly the end of an era. As a Patriots fan, I wouldn’t mind seeing Bill sign with a new team and kick The Patriots’ ass once before he retires.
As it turns out, he made the right choice. You can only write your resignation on the back of napkin once.
Brady didn’t have that same quick release prior to the ACL injury. He had already won 3 rings with a defense with Bruschi, Johnson, Law, Samuel, Harrison etc that defined the dynasty at the time.brady got the ball out in like half a second on average (hyperbole). would make the giants line look good. plus anytime he got touched the play wouldnt count for one reason or the other.
would be interesting. i think it could be more related to getting to the next level mentally and realizing getting rid of the ball is a massive key to victoryBrady didn’t have that same quick release prior to the ACL injury. I would love to see what his release time stats were prior to the injury but highly doubt it was around the 2.4, 2.5 second area in which he is now known for.
Getting to the next level of understanding the game but also understanding the next hit to could be his last and how to avoid that. They go together.would be interesting. i think it could be more related to getting to the next level mentally and realizing getting rid of the ball is a massive key to victory
he knew that was the NFLs job based on the countless rules to protect him.Getting to the next level of understanding the game but also understanding the next hit to could be his last and how to avoid that. They go together.
Not just him, everyone. It’s getting closer and closer to flag football every year.he knew that was the NFLs job based on the countless rules to protect him.
It’s a different sport now. Bill can still coach and let’s see what he does elsewhere. Not just him, everyone. It’s getting closer and closer to flag football every year.
It wasn't the feared Bill Belichick defense of the past. Brady gets a ton of credit, but so much of that run was built around guys like Ty Law, Lawyer Malloy, McCordy, Wilfork, Bruschi, McGinest, Johnson, and countless other big time defensive players who bought into the Belichick defense. Just my opinion, forget Brady, those defenses would make life hell for both Josh Allen and Tua.It’s a different sport now. Bill can still coach and let’s see what he does elsewhere.
That became a mess in NE the last few seasons on offense with the bad QB play, poor roster decisions, revolving good of coaches, I mean the Eagles current DC was their OC last year 👀. Strange.
Agreed. And they’d lead the league in penalties with how the game is “managed” now. lolIt wasn't the feared Bill Belichick defense of the past. Turns out when they extended Mayo last year it included a clause that he would take over post-Belichick, which is how they skirted the Rooney Rule. A lot of things were going on up there with the Krafts and Bill post-Brady. Endings in the NFL are never clean.Supposedly Jerod Mayo is the next head coach of The Patriots. I would have rather had Vrabel. Hell, I think would have rather had Harbaugh.
Seems a lot of the men he led disagree. Always crazy when you read on the internet that coaches aren't good people, yet the people who deal with them on a daily basis for a period of time love them.Great coach, horrible person.
