reports are to starkville, miss state, wow him and pearl can really add some juice to that league

Saw that on the Kentucky board. Not sure how good a hire that would be. His teams play a boring brand of ball. Plus, would he be able to recruit? Pearl brings juice. Howland, maybe not. Kentucky assistant Kenny Payne is also said to be in the mix.

Perfect conference for him to go to where financial resources are plentiful and anything goes in recruiting.

Any good modeling agencies in that part of the world?

Calipari , Pearl and Howland. Three peas in a pod, do whatever it takes to land recruits and win at all cost mentality. While the joke that is the NCAA looks the other way!

I love it when fans accuse coaches of cheating without any evidence whatsover. Where is the evidence that Calipari has ever cheated?

Sounds like sour grapes to me.

You make a fair but unpopular point.

UMass Final Four was vacated because Camby signed with an agent. That was not a Calipari deed.

Memphis Final Four was vacated because Derrick Rose presumably had someone take the SAT for him. That was never directly connected to Calipari from my understanding.

To me, the worst thing Calipari did was to mistreat that beat reporter when he was coaching the Nets.

The head coach is responsible for the program. Period.

The man has twice(so far) had final four trips wiped off the record books. Emphasis on the "so far".

You go ahead and believe that Marcus Camby is his only player to ever get illegal benefits.

You go ahead and believe Rose is his only player to ever have school work done for him.

I'm gonna go ahead and believe he's a dirty, cheating scumbag who will do whatever he can to succeed, including telling recruits that Lou Carnesecca was dieing of cancer just so they wouldn't sign with St. Johns.

Talk about drinking the kool-aid. Geez.

Your beliefs on UMass and Memphis are certainly ones you're entitled to. But they are not based on established facts. Only Calipari knows the truth about the Carnesecca remark. If he said it, it's disgraceful.

I don't know what kool-aid you're referring to. I'm simply saying instead of just making charges about what we believe --and what we WANT to believe-- it might make sense to look at facts. I'm no Calipari apologist; just trying to be open-minded.

How are those true facts? A fact is something that can be proven. That's something neither of you can do regarding Calipari. You just call names and make accusations because he can recruit and win games on the national level while Kevin Willard can't.

Fact: all coaches cheat. Some just have more resources to cheat with.

This. It is naïve to believe otherwise. Some just do it better than others and manage to keep it quiet.

will be interesting to see what Miss State gives him. I have to think he is going to be making 2 million plus per season. Great hire IMO. Guy knows how to get it done.

If true, the Big East missed two great opportunities to add marketable coaches in Howland and Pearl. These guys are among the top 20-30 names in the game. Howland might be Top 15. Outside of Wright and, to a lesser extent, JT3 and Lavin the league really has no big names to market. Would have been a home run for two lesser schools like DePaul and Seton Hall to add these guys. Very short sighted IMO.

Bo Ryan doesn't cheat. He can't make an offer to the #1 center in the country because his scores are NCAA appropriate, but do qualify by Wisconsin standards for admissions.

To just blankedly say that every coach cheats therefore every school cheats is just ridiculous. Stop blaming our poor showing in bball on the fact that we don't cheat as well as every one else. We picked two really poor coaches who have made it difficult for us to compete. It's asinine to suggest that we should cheat better. Hopefully, someday we get it right.

On, Wisconsin!
