well it seems that the far left of the Democratic Party is looking to do a hit job on Joe Biden. A woman come out that she was inappropriately touched and kissed by Joe Biden. The far left smells blood on this controversy. What is the crime? Biden came behind her touched her shoulders and gave her a kiss to the back of her head without consent.

This “scandal” is a joke. This is probably the most inoffensive touching one can do. For this Biden is trying to defend himself? Joe, just say this is complete BS and get a life people.

The Far left is the tea party for the Dems and they are looking to ruin it.

We are in different times now where creepy behavior like that isn't just blindly accepted anymore. Picture a male superior that you don't have a relationship coming up behind you, smelling your hair and kissing you on the back of the head. It's weird.

Do I think it makes Biden a molester unworthy of the office? Of course not, if it's not addressed now through a primary then it would come up in the general for sure. Have the debate now and if this is something that will turn Dems off like Hillary turned them off, then we should be afraid of that for a general election.

A reflection of the times that we live in. This definitely feels like a set up job by one of the other primary candidates. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was one of the more moderate candidates that wants the demo that supports Biden.

Uhm she was running for Lt Governor at the time. She was not some young subordinate without any idea how to handle things. This has nothing to do with whether he is qualified for the job of President. If people want perfection, then you will looking for a long time and have ineffective feckless leadership because people cannot act like humans.

The pendulum has swung far too much. We need to push back on this to center it. Do not apologize and say these are different times. I don’t even think it’s creepy behavior. Perhaps too friendly and too comfortable but that is all.

It's not about perfection, it is about what will impact the minds of voters in 2020.

If this doesn't matter to voters, then it won't hurt Biden in the primary or general election... but I would rather it be tested in the primary than the general. We've all known this about Biden and that it would need to be addressed at some point if he decided to run post the metoo stuff.

I do think he intended it to be friendly and comfortable, but I personally still think it is pretty creepy.

I’m not apologizing at all. But the MSM, Hollywood and extremists have pushed the narrative. You don’t think the whole Kavanaugh hearing was completely out of control?

I disagree with the tired blaming the media or Hollywood. I do agree it is the extremists in the Democratic Party. To me, this is an effort to derail any centrist or moderate Democratic candidate out of the primary to ensure the far left of getting the nomination. Biden represents the biggest threat to the far left. The Democratic Party is losing its backbone of the blue collar worker in this country. Do not forget about this voter. Even though manufacturing jobs are down and union membership is down, they still represent a a group that votes and is underrepresented now a days. Hillary forgot this group and it came back to haunt her. Seems like the Party may make the same mistake again.

Merge, how would this even be an issue in the general election? What is Trump going to say about Biden about this issue? Nothing. He can't.

Biden has always done creepy, inappropriate stuff like this but the bar has been set so low these days. He'll have to answer for it but it should not be disqualifying.

Really seems blindly political, she felt so demeaned and disrespected it took her almost 5 years to say anything?

Maybe, but if you are attracted to Biden's centrism you probably aren't going to vote for Bernie if Biden isn't in the race.

Biden represents the biggest threat to the far left.

I actually think it's Beto. Populist centrist capable of building the new brand of democrat going forward.

The Democratic Party is losing its backbone of the blue collar worker in this country. Do not forget about this voter.

One of the reasons why I only donated to Buttigieg. He has the best messaging of all of the candidates in my opinion especially in regards to the blue collar worker. I don't expect he will win but I am encouraged that the support he is building will show that there is a desire to build the 2020 platform closer to his messaging.

Trump will say whatever he wants. Kellyann was telling people to google "creepy uncle joe" over the weekend. If Biden is the candidate, there will be a social media barrage about this. We would be better off knowing now if that will be effective or not.

Merge, Buttigieg has been the most impressive candidate out there with his message thus far on the Democratic side. His problem is his lack of experience which is a big issue for me. But I do like him. I am not sure Beto is a moderate or a progressive. Beto has the Star appeal and charisma for sure. He has that JFK appeal. But he will have to start saying something soon in terms of issues. I think he is probably more moderate than left. But, let's not apologize for everything.

Two separate issues. Like I said before, I think one of the other Democratic candidates is behind this..... and likely one of the more moderate ones. ...Somebody that is sharing that modern vote with Biden right now.

#metoo Has become a major litmus test issue. Everyone’s actions over their entire now regarding woman are under a microscope. Look at Gillebrand. Do you think anyone would’ve even covered the story about her firing one of her staff for us for sexual-harassment five years ago?

Extremists with the help of the MSM have this THE issue to test a candidate.

It’s a crowded primary and I’m sure they are all salivating as being the candidate than can unseat Trump. Politics is dirtier than ever, so we can expect to see brutal attacks amongst the Dems. HRC didn’t have a hand laid on her in 2016. Bernie really didn’t attack her much at all.

If anything in this life is certain, if history's taught us anything, it's that you can kill anyone. The other certainty is that President Trump will say anything about anybody at anytime.

Question is did he come up from behind and kiss her on the head similar to how Desi would kiss Willard's head from behind when he was giving an interview after a big W or did he come up from behind her sniff her hair for 10 minutes then passionately kiss the back of her head?

Somewhere between the two of those, I'm sure his intention was definitely closer to Rodriguez.. but if he didn't have a reputation for the creepiness, it wouldn't really be an issue.

All he really needs to say is that he may have displayed his emotions improperly but never intended to hurt anyone and has learned from the discussions.

So because the woman msinterpretted his intentions this is something that has to be brought up? This is overboard. I long for the days when a dude would go in for a kiss and the woman either kiss him or she would slap him if she wasn't interested and everyone would move on.

I mean I agree it's overboard.

I am just concerned that something like this could gain momentum and turn people off against supporting him in the general election.

My biggest concern in a 2020 Democrat is if they can beat Trump. If this hurts Biden in a primary, it would probably hurt him in the general as well.

I wouldn't worry about it in the general elections. There are only 2 questions that matter in the general election. How much do you like or hate Trump? Have the democrats gone too far left focusing on the vocal minority?

The democrats had their biggest midterm win ever with noise from that vocal minority, so obviously I don't agree on those being the 2 questions.

It’s a shame a kiss on the head is now going to dominate the discussion points of a dozen candidates. Heaven forbid we can really dig deep into each of their views on healthcare or another important issue facing this country.

Let’s remember how all this started. Democrats and the MSM piled on Trump by showing the access Hollywood tape a billion times. Followed by the pig of all pigs, Harvey Weinstein. At the same time we have these MSM media news darlings, Charlie Rose, Matt Lauer, Les Moonves, and others who showed how sex abuse permeated the business. And the obsession with Stormy Daniels and making Michael Avenatti a media hero. But the best was the Brett Kavanaugh hearings, with the MSM and Hollywood getting self-righteous all of a sudden when they couldn’t even keep their own house clean. Add a dose of R. Kelly and Michael Jackson. Did I miss anything?

The fact that Biden even has to answer these questions is really a joke.

My problem is for 10 years the MSM has loved Biden. Nothing wrong with that. These actions were not in private moments. He did this at people swearing in. Why did the MSM ignore it when it happened right in front of their face and their cameras. Now they're righteous? Not one woman in the MSM said did you see what Biden did putting his hands on her shoulder or kissing the back of her head? They would be calling for the firing of all the witnesses who didn't report it. They should be calling for their own firings if they were being fair.

Because the MSM has now proven to be the ultimate hypocrites.

You may not remember it, but the media was going after Biden a bit years ago for being creepy. The "creepy uncle joe" stuff started in 2015. Info wars was pushing Biden as being involved in "Weinstein level grouping" 2 years ago.

Is it stupid? Yes.
Could it impact the 2020 election? Maybe... so get it out of the way now.

Again this is not the media. This is a political hit job from the far left and from the right (which will go with how the endangered white man theory is true). I posted an article above that should dispel this creepy hands on shoulders thing at the swearing in. I was watching Morning Joe this morning and Joe Scarborough and Mika were defending Biden and saying this goes too far.

And again...I’m agreeing with you....I also believe it was a political hit job.

But the climate we have now has been advanced by the media.

As I understand it, Lucy Flores is the woman. She wrote an essay for New York Magazine.

https://www.thecut.com/2019/03/an-awkward-kiss-changed-how-i-saw-joe-biden.html

Once again, the media has done its job and brought a hidden story to the surface. This is a first person account, not some sketchy "sources" or an article that ultimately was "taken out of context". Everything that has followed is someone's opinion.

The problem isn't the media. It is the weak minds that cannot distinguish fact from opinion.

I really feel bad for Biden. Second woman in Connecticut has now come forward and this seems all so disingenuous. Apparently, this happened back in 2009, so where was her outrage back then if it should have disqualified him from being VP, one heartbeat from being the President?

If I were him, I would just stop apologizing and just run on his record, and why he's the most qualified to be President at this point in time....something to the effect that "I've made my feelings known, we have work to do; here's my plan and I'll let the voters decide".

I think Joe responded well here. This should start to fade away from the mainstream for the most part.

Did I miss anything?

JFK. Bill Clinton. Weiner. Bill Cosby. Clarence Thomas. Al Franken.

Having offered these examples I'm sure I am missing some also.

Biden is getting railroaded.

It is clear he did all these things because he did it in very public places in front of cameras. He appears to be a tactile person who expresses some of his emotions with reasonable gentle touches. He now recognizes times have changed and that he shouldn't do those things. He is contrite and has pledged to stop doing it. In a normal world we should just let it go.

I think we have to look at all this through the lens of the political war that we are in and in this case the far left clearly does not want him to run and they will do anything they can stop him.

I personally think he's going to have a hard time getting elected simply because he is an old white man with white hair. That is not the image the Democratic party wants to portray.

with a minimal amount of searching on YouTube you will find politicians from every sex race, and country that engage in hugging and kissing. In context he has done nothing out of the ordinary.

But again it is not about that it is about the political war.

Until the next two women come forward...Biden's also in a tough spot because he hasn't even announced his candidacy yet. He's being attacked as a candidate, but how does he respond beyond what he's done as a candidate, when he isn't officially one yet.

We are in the #metoo zone, so it's not going to fade away. Every candidate is going to have their photo's and video's scoured and if someone comes up with an accusation, they are going to get air time. There are a lot of candidates that want that 30% of the vote that is aligned to Biden right now and want him out of the race.

Simple, I was working off the phone and screwed up deleting the nested quotes.

I edited it and corrected it.

No need for your snarkiness.

I thought Biden's video response I posted above was the best way for him to move forward.

Today... exhibiting that he really doesn't have the self awareness puts his arm around a kid "By the way, he gave me permission to touch him." He adds: "Everybody knows I like kids more than people."

It's a dumb issue, but he's not helping the view that he is an out of touch grandpa.
