That's what I thought, maybe only 1 team makes it to the second weekend.Originally posted by shu09:
Very difficult draws for the Big East teams. Committee did them no favors.
OK, good point. Just me being down about the situation. I've got to perk up.Originally posted by SHUSource:
It's bizarre to ask "who cares" about how our conference mates do in the tournament. They are fighting for the perception of our league, which has a huge impact on Seton Hall. With so many skeptics/intertested parties/ESPN shills calling the Big East into question, I can't imagine how anyone doesn't see the importance of it. If the Big East doesn't perform like a major conference, its schools will begin to have trouble recruiting like one. That's not been a problem at all so far (for schools with competent staffs), but I'd like to keep it that way.

I don't think you have to perk up. I'm miserable too (I at least I thought my other school had a chance to sneak in, and give me a little something to root for, but then Wyoming happened...), but I guess I'm just used to adopting my normal March posture of "It's good for the league."Originally posted by garyshu71:

I worry more about SPK's reported TV ratings being so low while the league has such a great RPI.Originally posted by SHUSource:

Really, though, it didn't used to the this important. The Big East was what it was, and an off year didn't make anyone think less of it. It matters now, at least until perceptions calcify a bit more.
Only way they go on a run is through a BE team unfortunately.Originally posted by donnie_baseball:

Outside of the BE, I'm hoping the Dayton Flyers have another run in them.
True on the first point, and I think PC will be too much for them. I think having them in the state of Ohio is renumeration for the fact that they actually had to play a play-in game.Originally posted by Hoya1987:

Complete joke that they get a home game in the first 4 and then a second home game vs. Providence in Columbus.
