6 teams in some with good match-ups. Let's hope at least three teams make the second week end.

Nice. How does this help the typical Seton Hall fan? I don't care anymore about the others. Sorry, it all makes me miserable.

Man, don't buy Nova at 1 seed, but they got respect. I do NOT buy Georgetown at 4 seed - too much respect. The others are good, SJU lucky at 9 seed, think they go down in first game. Butler - now I think they have a strong shot at getting to the Notre Dame game and they have a real shot in my view versus Notre Dame (especially if Connaughton is off).

Some nice, favorable seedings. Unfortunately doesn't mean much without some wins. And hate to say it, but I agree with Gary. We are at a point where we are beyond this whole rooting for the BE thing will help us mentality.

Agree, who cares about the BE. I care about Seton Hall and we're sitting home again. I'm sure those teams going feel real sorry for those of sitting home, lol.

Pull for everyone in our conference. Hope we get 4 I to the sweet 16

I will pull for everyone other than Georgetown and nova (personal reasons). Have a weird, unsettling feeling nova
Is going to win it all.

The more teams we get into the tourney , the further they go the better position the Conference is in and that translates into more opportunities for corporate sponsorship and a stronger hand in negotiating TV deals and that all translates into increased revenues .

80 - understand that. But if we can't or don't get our stuff together, does it matter?

Phi
It does only from the perspective that increased revenues could be channeled into improving either the athletic infrastructure or devoting increased revenues into improving the various teams that make up our athletic program. Of course you and I and the SH fans would trade the potential of increased revenues in a minute to be in the Tourney .

So disheartening that SH is once again relegated to the sidelines hoping that fellow members of the BE do well in the NCAA's thus "helping" SH in the long run. Coaches heads rolling everywhere but in South Orange. So illogical it feels like the twilight zone.

Very difficult draws for the Big East teams. Committee did them no favors.

That's what I thought, maybe only 1 team makes it to the second weekend.

It's bizarre to ask "who cares" about how our conference mates do in the tournament. They are fighting for the perception of our league, which has a huge impact on Seton Hall. With so many skeptics/intertested parties/ESPN shills calling the Big East into question, I can't imagine how anyone doesn't see the importance of it. If the Big East doesn't perform like a major conference, its schools will begin to have trouble recruiting like one. That's not been a problem at all so far (for schools with competent staffs), but I'd like to keep it that way.

OK, good point. Just me being down about the situation. I've got to perk up.

This.

Outside of the BE, I'm hoping the Dayton Flyers have another run in them.

I don't think you have to perk up. I'm miserable too (I at least I thought my other school had a chance to sneak in, and give me a little something to root for, but then Wyoming happened...), but I guess I'm just used to adopting my normal March posture of "It's good for the league."

Really, though, it didn't used to the this important. The Big East was what it was, and an off year didn't make anyone think less of it. It matters now, at least until perceptions calcify a bit more.

I worry more about SPK's reported TV ratings being so low while the league has such a great RPI.

Only way they go on a run is through a BE team unfortunately.

Complete joke that they get a home game in the first 4 and then a second home game vs. Providence in Columbus.

True on the first point, and I think PC will be too much for them. I think having them in the state of Ohio is renumeration for the fact that they actually had to play a play-in game.
