clearly the team needs to control turnovers, focus on a solid inside game and tighter shot selection but when looking at our ranks within the league we have some great talents. Just need to harness the talents to play consistently "together" which we can. The coaches need to figure it out. BE top 20-

Scoring - IW (5), Kadeem, desi
Rebounding- angel (1), ish (desi 21)
Assist- IW ( 6)
Steals - desi (3), ish ( IW , Gordon tie 21)

Everyone keeps talking about next year but we have the talent to have more than a legitimate shot this year.

Here's hoping.

The problem with the Whitehead stats is the scoring comes from taking way too many shots with a low shooting percentage, and the assists come with too many turnovers. If he can improve the efficiency and get closer to running the offense like a PG, it would be a HUGE help.

This is the Achilles heel of this team. The basic issue is since we have no one vaguely resembling a real point guard he has to function in a role that is unnatural for him. If it continues as is, we are going nowhere.

As we've all noticed, IW struggles with shot selection. He's extremely talented, so he can occasionally make them, but that doesn't negate the fact that these are low-percentage opportunities. I think it's important though to differentiate between two types of bad shots: his 30-foot three pointer and his whirling circus layups in the lane. In my mind, the deep three is a far worse shot. When IW is being aggressive and getting in the paint, it creates more opportunities for good things to happen: draw a double and dump off to Delgado/Nzei/Ish, draw a foul, put up a miss that results in an offensive rebound (one of this team's clear strengths.) Deep threes that hit iron often result in the other team getting on the fast break and make it harder for our talented rebounding core to get involved. Obviously he still needs to work on body control / decision-making (he loves that spin move, but half the time it creates no room / causes an offensive foul) but I like him so much better when he's attacking rather than settling for Hazell range. The key is learning when to pass, when to shoot, and how to absorb contact and still finish.

I'll just add this: IW has a knack for using glass better than most high-caliber guards. He struggles to create space in the lane, but if he gets up his shot, he usually has the spin to sink them, even at some insane angles.
