Big news brewing in Louisville this afternoon?

Or is Slick Rick going to pre announce that he had no knowledge of another scandal? Or maybe his in some Italian restaurant tryst was also something he had no idea about?

Does anything ever stick to Slick Rick that actually impacts him personally in any way? No matter how the spin doctors spin this story there is little chance that someone who is a control freak like him didn't know what was going on.

Smart and typical Pitino move. Screw over your current players who can't leave anyways while not impacting future recruiting.

People are going to negative recruit the hell out of his recruits. They find more they can add on. The reason you do this is to try to minimize NCAA damage because the violations are real. They find more, there will be more sanctions either self imposed or imposed by the NCAA

That is so true on both fronts about him. I can't believe that woman who was involved with him and reportedly he paid to have an abortion received jail time for extortion. She should have had a lawyer negotiating a book deal and a 20-20 interview for her instead of her asking him for money.

Pitino never ceases to amaze me with how slick he is. He now has turned what happened at Louisville into a tragedy about his two GS transfers who broke down in tears because they came to UL to play in an NCAA tourney and now they'll never have a chance when they learned of the post season ban.

I guess you could say Ricky's recruits got an "unhappy ending."

Hey do they have a PG coming in this year per chance? We might have a ship for him...

Pitino must have known this was going to blow up before he went after these guys and now two young men get screwed.

I think Pitino should get a nice big suspension.

TomD82,

But he said that she was on the menu! LOL

I have heard that slick isn't welcome in too many recruit's homes. Hence the source of many of his players is shifting to "alternative".

I hope the NCAA drops an anvil on Pitino. It is clear he should be suspended for a long time. Can the NCAA summon an ounce of intestinal fortitude and not let the U of L set the terms of their own punishment????

Trey Lewis announced he was transferring from Cleveland State to Louisville last April.

While doing so, he said this:

"I just want to play against the best competition [in my senior year], and my dream has always been to go to a Final Four, take a team to a Final Four. And when this situation opened up the way it did, I've got to thank God because He opened this door for me."

And now that door has been slammed shut.

Not by God, of course.

But by Louisville's administration.

And shame on them.

Too bad for Lewis. I'm sure Gary Waters is crying a river for the kid.
