What a statement by the women's basketball team to go to a very hostile DePaul home court and pull off the win.

It was a great team victory that showed what they're capable of.

Bruno and his boys twice tried to pull a fast one late in the game. First they tried to steal the alternating possession and then they played games with the shot clock. They got caught both times.

Please tell more!

I could not see the game and only just saw the result (we win we win we win!!!!).

Bruno is an absolute **** **** ****. Really want to delight in the telling of what he did to try to steal these two items....

I thought the usual practice is to start a post-game thread after the game. That's why is started this.

Anyway, Blue, to answer your question, DePaul was desperate and trying to make a comeback. The refs made a quick decision and gave possession to DePaul at Depaul's end with Bruno all over it.

Bozzella and DeFalco were on fire and implored/demanded that the refs review the decision. Sure enough, the ball went to SHU.

Not only did DePaul not get a change to score, the Pirates got the ball, Richardson was fouled and she hit both free throws. I think it extended the lead to seven.

It was a significant swing at an important time.

Powell was amazing the last game, hitting six threes in first half. (She didn't take one in the second.)

It's a big deal that she carried over that shooting touch to DePaul by hitting 5-5. That's big time on her part. Now the opponents need to worry about another weapon.

TRS is displaying such body control that it's beautiful to watch. The announcer said she looks as if she's "gliding" when she drives down court. Her offense and defense are so outstanding.

I mentioned a few days ago that when Richardson looks to control the ball/pass first, the Pirates are a different team. Today she had seven assists. She possibly took too many shots, and went one-on-three too many times. But overall, it was a great 36 minutes.

Strangely, Kuderer and Smith did not get in the game.

If two things happen this team could go on a major streak:

First, if Jones starts hitting threes regularly again, this team could run the table into the NCAA. Today she was 0-5 yet the Pirates won. She did grab 10 rebounds.

Second, for the fourth time in the last five games the Pirates offense and defense sharply dropped in the second period. Why? If that stop they will also be unstoppable.

It's a great time for the Pirates. I really hope they take care of business on Sunday because I'd love to see a loud sellout at home the following Sunday v. St. John's.

Go Pirates!

400 super observations, especially on how Tab can influence th offense.

Anyway, regarding Bruno, he is definitely a snake, the kind of guy who would cheat to win. He probably idolizes Bill Belicheat. Sounds idiotic? Watching him up close in games gives me this point of view.

Statement game. Now put a punctuation mark to finish a nice weekend. Do it Ladies!

Blue, I was referring to Shakeena Richardson...

Marquette just beat St. John's which is great for the Pirates because they're now tied with the Red Storm in the loss column.

Because DePaul hosts St. John's on Sunday, if the Pirates beat a very tough Marquette team they will move into either a three-way tie for first place or they will move into second place.

And, of course, the next game for the Pirates is at home vs. St. John's.

We watched Creighton beat Villanova at home tonight. No mention of our victory until the last minute, and it was in passing, while commentators gushed on and on about DePaul, Villanova and Marquette. WTF?

I am glad Marquette beat St John's, now we have to go take down Marquette on Sunday. I just know we are better. We got socked with a crushing three run blow with the best three other than us. We will overcome.

I think they named a movie about this scenario - The Perfect Storm!
