Biggest recruiting miss of 2022 was Sha being unable to talk Ike into coming back for another year.No way Croswell goes for 21 points and 9 rebounds versus Ike.His absence will hurt us thru the Big East season.Yeah, his offense stinks but so does Samuel's and Jackson's.

Can’t blame a dude for moving on. Has MBA already and got hired by a top accounting firm.

Wasn’t going to make any NIL money and the grind of a collegiate basketball season could get tiresome.

Just appreciate what IKE gave and what eventually Sha will do for our school!

Agree and this is me talking and I dont pretend to be in ikes shoes but you have 40 years to work . worth the risk giving it one more shot at playing big time basketball whete less than 1% of population ever gets that chance..

What about that tall walk on who blocked a few shots during garbage time earlier this season? He looks athletic and like he might be able to do some good for 5 min per game.

I know what you’re saying but I don’t think you realize 99.9% of them are so done by the end they love when they are done..in all sports

Ike would have shut them down and Pirates win easily.

If Ike was your son, what would you advise? The job, of course.
I'd advise him to do whatever makes him happy.

For someone like Ike, the job will always be there. He's too intelligent and driven not to make it work for him.

Agree plus accounting is not that exciting and the the job will be there next year.

Ike would make us better, but odds are he would not have improved his game in any way. Maybe that was a consideration for him.

With all the hoopla around St. Peter's run and aura surrounding Shaheen, I thought recruits would be eager to play for him. I was surprised and disappointed that he didn't sign kids last April and May for the incoming 2023 class.

This was so widely overrated here. Never was going to happen.

That's predicated on the idea that he and his staff were recruiting players who could have reasonably been expected to contribute at the Big East level rather than the MAAC level. It's really difficult to get in late on players when other schools have been after them for years in some cases.

That also presumes that those potential recruits and/or their families or advisors were paying attention to the NCAA Tournament. Not a given.

This is where having someone from the previous staff staying on as a bridge would have helped. Whatever relationships we might have had with 2023 and beyond recruits evaporated when they left.

Really?? you want Ike back? Nice guy but hands made of concrete blocks. As for Shaheen and 2023 recruits.....Most of the goods kids have been worked on for years and u want shaken to swoop in and grab them? Shaheen doesn't coach UNC u guys.

Croswell and Hoskins don’t go for 40+ points between them if Ike is in there. But five years in college is plenty. Good for Ike.

Good take on your UNC comment.
