Not a typo...

Just really impressed with Delgado, Ish, and Nzei. Seems like Willard is now set on his 3 man rotation for the PF/C position. Are they perfect? No. Would I like to see Delgado play better defense? Yes. But, we have a walking double/double, and an all BE defensive player (if they had a first team all BE defense). Very impressed with Nzei's aggressiveness tonight. Yes he had some swatted, but he also had a couple of nice flushes.

Other thoughts:

- Between the gameplan (Ellenson was not going to beat us) and our athleticism, this game should have not been as close as it was throughout. Every time we approached a double digit lead, it seemed our concentration waned.

- That being said, we won this game going away. It has been WAY too long since we could easily put away a BE team (even the 7th best team) without our best stuff.

- I have MUCH more confidence in IW now then I did at the start of the season. He dominates when he wants to and he has been hitting daggers. He seemed to stray from the formula as we built leads (see first comment), but he was by far the best guard on the court.

- KC has been scuffling a bit. Hope to see him turn it around. To a lesser extent, would also like DR to show more than flashes.

- 1 - 0 in February this year and 4 wins in a row. We are most likely going to hit a rough patch before the end of the season, but looking less and less like it will be a complete crash and burn as in seasons past.

- All in all, we did what we had to do. Next 3 games are against bubble competition. Good times.

The only thing I would add here is that Gordon has played a lot better than I think most of us anticipated. His D is excellent and is a pretty good slasher to the hoop. Is a terrific 6th guy to have on your squad.

win the next two, get that 3rd signature win that the good teams all have against either X or Prov, then beat SJU. If we do that, we're in easily, have a fantastic resume and whatever else happens doesn't matter.

Things I liked:
Whitehead played well. his passing really stood out. He is growing into his role.
Gordon provides a lot of leadership.
Delgado matched up against a good front court.
Defense and paint play was tough.


Rawlie Alkins should come play for shu next yr. he could step into a great situation.

Like I said in a post prior to the game. Limit Marquette's two bigs to under 28 points and we win. They only had 27. I predicted a win the first time around the same way. If their two bigs are totally on we are in trouble. I would not want to see Marquette in the first round of the BET.
