NC State was receiving votes in the polls this week so this is not a slouch team. Good win for Coach Bozzella and the ladies!

Beat a 5-0 from the ACC. Dominated the boards, in part, because SH couldn't shoot - bad shot selection, rushed shots and even sloppy cross court passing. Yet they still won! Gotta love their gtrit & determination.

Great win. Team is resilient and tough. They will get better too.

NC State beat Nova who was ranked ahead of SHU in the pre-season Big East coaches poll.

Tony B told me that day that there was no way in hell that SHU was finishing 5th in the league. I told him that maybe the coaches wanted to ensure you win back to back COY awards. :D

Key is going to be health. Already lost two backup guards for the year. Can't lose another rotation player.

Heh-heh, good one, Dan! By the way, of all the current BE coaches, the one I dislike the very most is the Nova coach - a nasty shouter who motivates by humiliation during the game. Really have no respect for him at all. The other one I do not like - because he's damned good but looks like he feels he is entitled to own the top spot by acclamation - is the DePaul coach.

Yes - this is true. We're a bit exposed, having lost both Egan and Inman. Gotta have the rest stay healthy. Mentioned various places, Molyneaux made some very strong strides last night. Feeling good about that.

Got home last night late and only saw the last 2 seconds of the game. I noticed in the handshake line that NC State has a few behemoths. Since we dominated the boards can I assume they didn't play?

No. They played from what I could tell. Measure of how strong Bird played (not to mention Byrne and Molyneaux), but then our pint-sized super-guard, Powell, pull down some crazy boards and so did Mosley.

Could be a very tough game tonight. Northern Iowa beat Georgia Tech last night and are sky high for their match-up against a tired Hall team.

Expecting a tough game, that's for sure. Yes, we're tired, showed in the legs, starting with the UTA game, missing so many makeable shots by hitting the front of the rim. Well - we shall see. You will be able to hear the cheering from the BP abode.

Just spoke to Tony. The girls might be a little tired but he said they will always give him everything they have and will play hard tonight.

Blue and Buzzer shot you guys both know tons more about the wbb team than I do. Are you surprised by the undefeated start?

Didn't Powell lead for rebounds last night? She's only 5'6" and was pulling them down from among the trees surrounding her. Thought she had a career high in that category as well.

She came flying in like a ferocious jet. Man. It was awesome.

IHM, sorry, busy day. I did not expect this start although I was extremely positive. Whatever anyone says, until we could see Kena and Aleesha, it would be hard to say.

Fellow conference coaches are not dopes. They know how hard it is to lose a large core of seniors and so it made sense to rate us down.

With the bricks being thrown at the basket, it was a rebounders dream. If you listened to your coach and followed your shot (brick in this case) you had a good chance of getting the bound. SH followed their shots.

To a degree. You have to balance the court so you can't always follow your shot less you invite breakouts the other way.

There were a few of those to, thus the runs at different times if the game. Errant cross court passes didn't help either. Fortunately, this team has heart and keeps on fighting no matter what. They'll need to play better today.
