Just got home. I can type with 1 finger but that's a pain in the butt so for now I'll just paste some stuff from Blue Ribbon. Hopefully later in the week I can get rid of this claw. ![Frown :( :(](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
2017-18 Conference RPI: 2nd (of 32)
Conference RPI (last five years 4-3-4-3-2)
BIG EAST NOTEBOOK The Big East might be a bit down this season after losing some terrific players. Of the 14 players who made the All-Conference first or second team or honorable mention, plus one All-Freshman selection (Villanova’s Omari Spellman), 12 are no longer playing college basketball. Five were drafted by NBA teams and three others will go to NBA training camps along with former Xavier star J.P. Macura, who did not get any all-conference mention.
“The conference in general lost a lot this year,” said Seton Hall coach Kevin Willard, who lost four starters. “We have a ton of very talented freshmen in the conference. I think it’s as talented as I’ve seen in a freshman class. But everybody lost a little bit of something.”
… Speaking of freshmen, seven were in the top 100 of 2018 recruits as listed by Rivals. Guard Jahvon Quinerly of Villanova was tops among Big East signees at No. 31, followed by guard David Duke of Providence at 38 and forward Cole Swider of Villanova at 39.
Other top-100 recruits were guard A.J. Reeves of Providence (No. 51), swingman Brandon Slater of Villanova (No. 54) and two Georgetown players, guard James Akinjo (No. 71) and forward Josh LeBlanc (No. 93).
The top three Big East members in the team recruiting rankings were Villanova, Providence and Georgetown.
… Only one new head coach will be on the bench this season, Xavier’s Travis Steele, who spent nine years on the staff of his predecessor, Chris Mack. Mack left to take the head-coaching job at Louisville after compiling seven seasons of 23 wins or more and leading the Musketeers to eight NCAA tournaments, including one Elite Eight and three Sweet 16s.
… The fourth annual Gavitt Games, scheduled for Nov. 13-15, will feature eight contests between teams from the Big East and Big Ten. The marquee attraction is a rematch of the 2018 NCAA championship game between Villanova and Michigan.
Other interesting matchups are Marquette at Indiana, Wisconsin at Xavier and Ohio State at Creighton.
… Two teams will play highly ranked Kansas in the non-conference schedule. Marquette goes against the Jayhawks on Nov. 21 in the opening round of the NIT Season Tip-Off in Brooklyn, N.Y. And Villanova, which knocked out Kansas in last season’s NCAA semifinals, heads to Phog Allen Fieldhouse for a Dec. 15 contest. The Jayhawks play at Villanova next season.
… Once again, transfers will dot the rosters of conference teams, including a number of graduate transfers— Villanova guard Joe Cremo (Albany), Marquette guard Joseph Chartouny (Fordham), Xavier forward Ryan Welage (San Jose State) and DePaul forward Femi Olujobi (North Carolina A&T). Xavier brought in another graduate transfer, 6-10 center Zach Hankins, who was Division II Player of the Year last season at Ferris State.
