Book Recommendations?

In advance of a trip to France I read

The Splendid and the Vile - Erik Larson
Taking Paris- Martin Duggard
Man Called Intrepid - William Stevenson
Omaha Beach, D-Day, June 6, 1944 - Joseph Balkoski
The Bedford Boys - Alex Kershaw

I prefer non-fiction in general. These books gave me a thorough understanding of key aspects WW II. It made the trip quite interesting.

It’s provocative because it’s a subject that people normally avoid, but makes you think about things that you really should consider be it’s too late for a family member or loved one.
