Now that moderna and jj have boosters, how many people here are going to get them?

they say its ok to mix and match, but that rubs me the wrong way. my brain cant really understand how a pfizer booster can match with a jj vaccine.

i got JJ and every news outlet says its the "worst" in terms of efficacy and coverage. JJ boosters approved after only 2 months from first vaccine.

i dont really wamt a booster, but will probably get one thinking about my family and the holidays.

anyone else getting them?

I am not planning on getting the booster unless it becomes a requirement for travel.

I wish I could get one but not in high-risk group! Booster data released by Pfizer this morning very encouraging.

I’m not sure J&J is significantly less efficacious per se—probably has more to do with one dose versus two. (Which was just kind of an arbitrary decision based on structure of original trials—J&J one dose, and worked well enough, so they moved forward with it. Pfizer and Moderna could in some sense be “one dose” vaccines, too—they provide at least some protection with even just one shot.)

Mix & match interesting strategy that many have advocated for a while. Doesn’t seem all that confusing—it’s just about priming the immune system so it’s ready to fight!

Honestly depends on what the environment looks like. Don't see a need today as things are improving but if we start to see a surge in NJ again, I will probably get a booster. I haven't looked into any of the data on using a different brand yet.

I already got booster bc I work in healthcare with lots of people around me and recommend anyone 60 and older to get one as well especially with health issues or work in a place like me with lots of people around you.

Also, if you received a J&J shot originally, I would get one of the mRNA ones to get better protection.

Happy to get the booster and live free or die as is my current state.Non ducor, duco I am not lead ,I lead for those a little rusty on thier Latin.

No desire to get a booster. They said it was one and done, now they're trying to move the goalposts. JJ may be the "worst" when it comes to preventing symptomatic illness, but data shows it actually has stronger protection 6-8 months out against serious illness/hospitalization.

Yep. J&J has held up well.

holiday season will be 8 months out for me (got jj in april) so im a bit torn. im not exactly taking any big precautions with my lifestyle these days. maybe ill take it easy next month before holidays if i dont get booster.

ur right about the goalposts however the flu is a yearly shot so 8 months isnt absurd in comparison

I got the J&J vaxx early May, I would not mix with the rna vaxx choices and am not sure I really want to go for a J&J booster....I am willing to abide by mask guidelines across major transit services

Get an anti body test. Might help with your decision.

Wait so you got vaxxed? Weren't you the poster carrying on for months that you wouldn't get vaxxed because you aren't a sheep? You have some explaining to do.

He’s explained multiple times

he’s also never suggested that one must not get vaxxed

he’s merely a proponent of choice, although he has called out sheep which undeniably exist (on both sides of politics, to the extent you think what I’m saying is political although not my intent)

I respectfully disagree with your post. The poster in question made of fun of people taking this pandemic seriously multiple times. And made my fun of my way of living because I have high risk people that live in my household today.

I picture the opening scene of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The stank coming from that house…
