BOYCOTT SPRINGSTEEN PRODUCTS

Well, if you want, here's another NJ band you can support instead. Just put out this shirt, with all profits going to RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest Nat'l Network). Something tells me a bunch of you conservatives on here still support this miserable SOB that finally got his comeuppance (of sorts...still walking away with another $25 mill) this week though.

Does it come in the other Bills too, Clinton and Cosby???

Snake Tom is right. Take a hike off the ship. I'm not buying your right wing rant but more importantly your out of bounds. I come here to look for point guards not fascists.

And we've come full circle on radical idiocy. The accomplishments:

I like Bruce; seen him six times...but I'll just wear my "Murica" t-shirt to his next concert....

A country that has been so good to him allowing Springsteen to make an obscene amount of money and this guy has the gall to bad mouth his president. Keep it to yourself Bruce

The guy will never get it. He writes an anti-Trump song - thinking he is still all that. He spits in the face of his fans.

Take a stand. Don't buy his crap. Don't buy his concert tickets. He sucks and is over the hill anyway. Buy elsewhere with your hard-earned money.
Why, cause unlike any trump family product it may be made in America. ..lol

And, that old guy who thinks he is all that had the highest grossing tour last year.

I am not at all a fan of Springsteen's music and will likely never understand the obsession over it, but he can't express his political views through his music?

One of my favorite examples of this is when one of my favorite artists blind-sided Leno years back during the Bush administration.

Springsteen has always been a guy who understood the working man and guys who worked in labor unions. Who are you to say what he should write about? You have every right not to watch his concerts or buy his music.

He certainly can see a buffoon in the Oval Office when he sees one.

Here's the weird thing to me about songs of protest today. Some of the best music of any generation was created from the times...the challenges, the causes etc. (CSNY: "Ohio", Country Joe: Fixin to Die, Janis Joplin, Band Aid, etc). Lyrics and songs (powerful lyrics) created by the new generations of their time and embraced (or not) by a large part of the masses. They were anti-establishment songs created by those that were not part of it and challenged our norms.

Now we have protest songs by entertainers like Springsteen or Beyoncé who are getting most of the public attention that have actually benefitted most from the establishment that they are protesting. I'm sure there are protest songs that are out there from Millenial entertainers but very few have had the mainstream reaction that music has impacted in other generations.

Exactly. Trump is the definition of anti-establishment and that's why he was elected.

It's funny to see guys like Springsteen, Tom Hanks, etc hanging out with Obama on a multi-million dollar yacht docked at a secluded island paradise in the south Pacific. I'm sure that's great optics for the working man, @cernjSHU!

Bruce isn't, and never has been, a working man, despite his ability to empathize with them in his early work. So too goes the Democratic party, which used to be that of the working man, but is now that of on-the-fringe creeps (and those who would wear idiotic t-shirts), coastal elites, Hollywood, and Cecille Richards. That party, and their most well-known candidate, lost to a buffoon.

That is like saying that Republican Party belongs to the Christian right. We all know that is not true because no real Christian would ever vote for a guy like Donald Trump who is the antithesis of everything they stand for. Unless, they are hypocrites which is probably the case.

Anyway, you over generalize too much. First, there are a few variables that played into Hillary losing the election. One of which was Comey's decision to re-open the investigation a couple weeks before the election. This was a major hit to Clinton and it showed that her lead decreased measurably after that announcement. Also self inflicted wounds by her own doing, i.e. having Michael Brown's mom at the conventions was a HUGE gaffe.

Second, The Democratic party is not just the fringe left. That is actually a very small minority of the party. However, I do agree with you that they took for granted at best or at worst lost their credibility with middle class working man. The Bill Clinton campaign said it best. "It's the economy, stupid"

More than that, I believe the "basket of deplorables" line was the most damaging (and also self-inflicted) act. Nothing like insulting a huge chunk of the electorate and expecting to get their votes.

Springsteen never had an honest job in his life. He is a scumbag. My best friend ran the security for the police and firemen concert right after 9/11. He said Bruce and Richard Gere were the worst ever. Bruce insisted on going first and got in a snit and walked out (eventually coming back when he got his way). He's always preaching in his concerts more than ever - a real scumbag. Worse then U2.

If you really dislike Springsteen that much most certainly do not buy his music or go to his concerts. But I do like Springsteen's music and will continue to buy his albums & attend his concerts. The fact that you are telling us not to go makes me want to go even more. It's about music not politics. After all when Hall85 & I who agree little on politics are both Springsteen fans why should we care if you want us to boycott his concerts or not. PS: I don't boycott Clint Eastwood movies either.

Boy that sounds horrible. An entertainer wanting to perform first - Wow how awful of a human being. Sir if Springsteen is the worst person you ever encounter in your life, you must live in fairy land. It is ironic that you think Springsteen is a "scumbag" and the "worst ever" yet you are a Donald Trump guy. Seems to me your credibility is questionable.

And Hillary was a viable option for a Christian? I voted for neither.

Possibly; Comey's move was strange and definitely blew a hole in her campaign. Many thoughtful post-mortems were written that give a lot of good examples of why the whole party platform is to blame (Jon Stewart, off the top of my head, wrote one).

Right -- the coastal elites make up the majority of the party. Pretty big hypocrites themselves.

Funny story.

Few weekends ago I spent the weekend with my girlfriend and her family down in Rumson. In walks Bruce, no biggie they have known him since he was a kid and gave him his first opportunity to perform in front of others.

Needless to say her family runs maybe the largest business in NJ employee wise and are stark republicans who originally backed Christie. They are extremely involved with the republican party in NJ and at the national level.

The point of the story is that most "sane" people understand freedom of speech works both ways.

Bruce was in a room of people who do not agree with him on one thing and that was just fine because everyone is entitled to their views no matter how "extreme".
