One statistic that we haven’t seen is average length of stay for hospitalized COVID patients. Asked that question to two hospital executives from two of the largest systems in PA today. In March/April it was 30-40 days. Now it’s 2-3. They pointed to three reasons: 1-Acuity if admissions are not as bad; 2-They know more about the virus and triaging patients; and 3-They are aggressively using therapies with good results.

Spoke to a nurse on a Covid floor recently and she said the same. Short stays for the most part, not as virulent as they saw in the Spring and they have the treatment protocol down. Hoping this sets up a good fall and winter for us all.
