I was going to post this on the bball board but I'll try here first.

Just booked trip to Breckenridge for early January. this will be my first trip to Breck. I know the snow will be better in Feb/March but with work this was only time I could swing it. Has anyone been? Any recomendations for après or restaurants?

I've been toying with the idea of spending a day or two at copper, keystone, or a-basin, but i I've read to not waste your time and terrain is much better at breck. Are any of those mountains worth the day trip?

Winter is coming <John snow voice>

Keystone is a family oriented mountsin.

A Basin is no frills local hangout. More difficult.

I've never been to Copperhead but I have friends who have gone and said it was good.

Vail is worth it for a day. The back bowls Vail is well-known for powder.

It's been too many years for me to recommend any places to eat in Breckenridge. I do know that the Breckenridge Brewery is there and if you're into microbrews that would be a good place to stop at least for a drink

I appreciate the tips.

I've been to vail before, Aspen, snowmass. I love the back bowls at vail. By far my favorite place to go but I'm looking to try a new place which is why I was focusing on the other resorts. I hear the bowls at breck can't compare to vail but I will definitely check out the brewery.

Another local trick is to buy your lift tickets at a discount at the grocery store. There is one in Golden Colorado which is on the way up from the airport.

Wow thanks that's great to kno. That's really interesting. I tried to preorder tix on liftopia.com but they don't partner with breck unfortunately. Breck tix are ridiculously expensive ~$170 at window but ~$145 if u pre order. I called breck customer service to ask them if local shops sell discounted tix that I could purchase when I got there but the guy I spoke with said no. I thought that was weird and figured it to be a sales tactic to get me to buy directly from them and u just confirmed that for me.
