Bryant upsets Syracuse 73-72 with less than a second to go. Several ejections with Sha’s former player Doug Edert (St. Peter’s) exchanging face smacks... Not sure I’ve seen that before.

Oh well. Tough night for The Orange.

Edert, and his "look at me" pink sneakers, is a punk. Ran away like a coward after being confronted by #2 on Syracuse.

This is the kind of player the Bryant program has attracted lately. That program has major issues - Peter Kiss and his antics, the fight in the stands last season and now this. Not a great example being set by Jared Grasso.

Not only did Edert run away when confronted but after first being slapped by Mintz, he retaliated from behind.

Really a bad look for both sides though.

2 of College Basketball's biggest a-holes doing what they do after their players had a slap fight. Surprising with these great leaders.

Anthony, not condoning what happened one bit but Mintz was the one who started the fight by casually walking by Edert and slapping him in the face and then walking away. Ebert then instinctively slaps him right back.

Good on Edert for standing up for himself. He was hit in the face first. Most of you would have run away from a very large man twice your size chasing after you. What was he supposed to do stand there and get destroyed?

Say what you will but the Bryant coach does know how to recruit and coach. They jumped on Syracuse early and stayed composed when the game got tight. They almost won last year too. Probably helps that Bryant who is way smaller than us has a collective. SHU could take a lesson on the NIL part and the coaching part.

We've had a couple of guys in the pinks lately too. Rhoden comes to mind.

How Grasso rolls. Although I don't blame Bryant for that last night. Mintz of Syracuse instigated it and slapped Edert, then he retaliated right away even with Mintz turned. A million players react like that on the court in the heat of the moment, usually pushing the guy from behind. Yeah he ran out of there when the Syracuse big showed up though that's for sure, lol.

Grasso has a bit of the high-energy Gonzo in there. He's aggressive, lets them do their thing. Not my style, but he really helped Cluess at Iona get a lot of those high major transfers. He's taking whatever he can get to be relevant. He has turned Bryant into something, including their first NCAA Tournament ever.

its a winning strategy for a school like bryant.

Mintz absolutely started it. My only point is don't return fire when the guy's back is turned. Edert made himself look like a cheap shot artist.

Got to love how Grasso waited for Boeheim to turn and walk away to unload on him.

Nobody wins here.

LOL on recruiting. Bryant literally recruits every player in the world. I think my dog got a letter from them one year.
They do, but he's done a good job there in getting talent comparatively. Like Grasso or not, he seems like an up-and-comer.

Look at me pink sneakers? Never thought that way about Rhoden.

I did, but this discussion is about Edert on Bryant. Very clear when everyone else is wearing regular shoes.
