Disappointed as a win vs. Butler would of kept our momentum prior to the week layoff.

Oh well.

Butler is a very mature, skilled team and they brought it tonight.

EXCELLENT shooting game by Whitehead.

We got beat in the paint and on the boards.

Lets lick our wounds and finish strong.

7-5 in the BE isn't bad when you consider 3 of those losses have been against Villanova and Xavier.

Still proud of this team.

Go Pirates.

1 vs. St Johns, 1 vs. Depaul and 1 vs. Georgetown/Butler/Xavier/Providence.

I think that 11 wins is doable..

Still love this team.

Go Pirates.

This was my thought as well. I turned the game on just around the ten minute mark when butker went up about 10. Seton Hall looked pretty good from that point. Butler just did what it had to do to never relinquish the lead. Tip your cap.

I saw a lot of thing a liked. Whitehead continues to Impress when he plays team basketball. Desi Rodriguez was great down the those final ten minutes. Eric Gordon is such a wonderful leader for this team. I'm on the fence on Delgado. I like him I think he tries, but I think he could be better.

This was a huge, huge win for butler. A season saving win for them. And they stepped up.

This was a huge opportunity for the hall, but not a must win game. A month ago I posted a path to the dance for seton hall based on sagarin predictor ratings. And this was actually one that was projected as a loss. A win would have been huge and taken pressure off, but a loss doesn't set you back. You just need to keep the foot in the gas and continue to perform

Yea I am just nervous where the 3/4 win is coming from. Lots of road games. Georgetown will view us as a must win. Xavier at home is very tough. Butler on the road will obviously be tough. That leaves PC at home as our "must win" that is a tough spot. I think its doable but makes me nervous

ncaaball. Seems like we are of like mind. Our Pirates have shown a proclivity for beating teams in the rematch, so even though it will be on the road, think we will play Butler much better. Whitehead kept us in this game. Everyone else was a relative no-show.

Not only are they a more veteran team, but also smarter basketball players than we are tight now.

I want to stay positive with this season. A week off and then going to play motivated Gtown
is going to be tough. I think our season is going to come to a crucial moment in that SJU
game at MSG. I could see a loose SJU team with nothing to lose making us crazy. So now I do
believe that Willard and the coaching staff have to show solid leadership and keep the ship steady.

I see a probable loss at GTown, a not so easy win at SJU, a split with Providence and Xavier at minimum
and then the possible "Hell" game at DePaul.

This was not a bad loss, it was an important frustrating loss to a good team.

Butler looked like the team many thought they would be at the beginning of the season. Such a good offense.

Sweeping Georgetown and rolling St. Johns again would be nice before another tough 3 game stretch.

Seton Hall is still in good shape.

True.

Saw this coming, and really this was two losses, 'cause we ain't beating them at Hinkle. For as good as Gordon has been, he has to make those two free throws near the end of the game. Desi missed the -and one, and Ish missed the bunny and only got 1/2. So the poor FT shooting finally got us. Gordon did the same thing in the LBS loss, and it really hurt then, too.

Carrington should not take so many three's. Not his strength yet.

Seton hall was due for a loss. Dont count them out at hinkle.

I thought the boys played well, but yeah Butler was better for longer stretches and deserved to win. No quit on this team, though, which you love to see. Little break here, so good time to rest up for a day or two, and then back to work. Want to see them play with this same fire for the stretch run.

Butler was Butler tonight. They are tough and played well. They were desperate at 5-6.

Seton Hall was not Seton Hall tonight. We don't allow teams to drive the lane like that. We don't allow teams to shoot 56%. We were sloppy. A good reminder.

Whitehead goes 7/7 from 3 in the first half and we were tied.

We fought, but just too many lapses all game. Constantly down 5-6.

They'd beat us if it was at Walsh. Butler has our number; I was stunned when we got past them in that awful first round BET game a couple of years back. Then we come out and beat Nova.

No need to panic. Butler is a good, veteran team. If we get to 10 in conference play, and win a game in the BE tourney, we should be good to go. Depaul and St. John's should be guaranteed W's. I don't take any W for granted in this league, even with a team as terrible as St. John's, who has played some teams very tough (Xavier twice, Marquette twice, etc). And Depaul has two upsets. NOnetheless, those two are must wins. Then, worst case scenario, go 1-3 against the remaining 4, and we should still be good. 2-2 in those other 4 makes us a lock in my opinion.

We had 14 turnovers in the first 30 minutes. Ouch.

While probably true, i liked the way we gave it back to creighton on their home court. plus, Butler has been very beatable this year.
