Butler: Stats - Schedule - Roster

They’re like us: New roster (347th in continuity) and no depth (290th in bench minutes).

Interesting team to figure. I think Seton Hall has a better roster than Butler, but Butler is solid if not spectacular in any given area and are at home. Quick turnaround affect them like we were so concerned with about us? Their defense is suspect, we should be able to have some success.

Seton Hall has a number of sporadic stats, but Butler is pretty consistent across the board. No bad losses. Have routinely taken care of business against bad teams with 10-point margins. Their 3 notable wins are KP #18 Marquette, KP #25 Texas Tech in OT, and KP #59 Boise State. They had huge days from 3 in the wins over Marquette (10/22) and Texas Tech (12/27), but the Boise State was a grind-out win.

They don’t commit turnovers, they don’t foul on defense, and they’ve got good players at each level. This big Jalen Thomas is very active in the games I’ve seen, he’s going to give us trouble. Bediako has really tailed off here recently largely because his foul rate has jumped. Important match-up IMO.

Well after they beat Marquette it gives sha some ammo to light the fire even brighter.

on the flip side it makes the Marquette win less valuable.... long story short

KEEP WINNING

You could look at it that way. Marquette tumbled all the way from 17 to 19 in the NET.

I look at it as it gives us even more of an edge on a team that will likely find its way to the top tier of the standings. We're now two games ahead of MU in the standings with the tiebreaker advantage for the moment.

Lots of basketball to play but it's never too early to stack obstacles in front of opponents.

I don't recall how Coach Matta plays it, but I'm guessing we are gonna see alot of zone tomorrow. Hopefully Sha has been drilling the guys on how to handle it better!

While they don’t rely on the 3 as a team, they have two players who space the floor and take the majority of their shots from 3. Conversely, Seton Hall only has 1 player that fits that profile (Dawes). This worries me because I still have PTSD over our 3PT defense earlier this season:

**6’6” Pierre Brooks – transfer from Michigan State – is shooting .406 from 3 this year where he takes the majority of his shots. He’s at .394 in their 5 BE games (13/33) and went 4/6 at Marquette and 3/6 in the home loss to UConn the game prior. If we lose him we’ll pay.

**6’1” DJ Davis – transfer from UC Irvine – is also shooting .380 from 3 this year (30/79). He took takes the majority of his shots from the arc. He’s been even better in BE play at .464 (13/28). He got into big time foul trouble at Marquette and only played 20 minutes.

So these two are getting about 12+ 3’s up per game in the BE

By the stats, Butler is solid. 36% from 3, 78% FTs. 11TOs, 37 rebounds. 47% FGs, 15 assists.

Maybe the most improved team in country . They will have major problems stopping Richmond as does everyone
Really need Colemans length in this one
Their defense isn't good, especially inside. Where we need to feast.

We also got a little breather not playing since Tuesday, so hopefully that helps.

Agree they play a soft defense .we should be able to score inside and out . That and cut our turnovers to under 10 and we win .
